I've only been of voting age for 16 years, but I don't think I've seen any candidate in a debate appear as confident and experienced as Romney did.

I had to vote "blank" -- We all lost, who cares what progressive looked better on the camera. And that IS how elections are won these days.

Still, I'd like Obama out. I just wish we had a chance at something other than another progressive.

Are you guys saying Romney can lie better than Obama, somehow that is hard to believe.Vote for the same 2 parties over and over and expect a different result is the definition of insanity.

it sure would have been nice to see Ron Paul up there.
 Quoting: Anubis

Why?...not only did Ron Paul LOSE every state primary...he would have been outclassed like Fluffy the bunny vs King Kong by even stammering Obama tonight...you really think that Ron could have held his own in the debate we saw tonight?....not even in the same universe...and all you Paulies would have been whining your asses off about Grampy got treated unfairly blah blah blah, whimper whine whine...as usual...

Re: Who do you believe won tonight's debate?
I watched the expanded version of the debate on DemocracyNow. What a refreshing difference. Both Obama & Romney talked a bunch of doublespeak, going round in circles and didn't say a damn thing worth listening too. Lehrer was a real pushover as a moderator too. What a wus.

On the other hand, Stein and Anderson (regardless of whether you agree with them) gave clear, concise, informed and thoughtful answers. They also covered topics that the other two clowns were too scared to go near: drones, kill lists, Patriot Act, SOPA, NDAA, single payer health care, obscene military industrial complex spending, the insurance industry racket, immigration, human rights, healthy food, etc.

If I had to choose, I think Stein was just slightly better than Anderson. Damn shame most of the country didn't get to hear their side of the story. Needless to say, I don't think either Obama or Romney won any points. A big negative turn-off from both of them.

I'm a bit older than you, and back in 1980 when I was a young, naive and delusional, I worked on the Jimmy Carter campaign (yes yes I know)

I wanted to be a reporter back then and I was already active in politics, so I was glued to the debates between Carter and Reagan

I remember my young idealistic heart feeling crushed as I watched Ronald Reagan swagger into the debates and demolish Carter

Every "there you go again" and other confident put down was something I couldn't comprehend at the time. I argued against it, I called Reagan aggressive and domineering....but I did know it meant my guy was on the ropes and going down hard

and he did

Now, in hindsight as an adult, a born again ornery indpendent with a powerful dislike of both parties, I respect Reagan's self confidence, and I know that is what a country going through difficulties wants and needs

I encourage you, if you get a chance, to watch some online clips of those Reagan vs Carter debates so you can say "and that sir, is how it's done..."

An old man, once called a hack, who found his fire and slid into the presidency on a landslide

I am in no way defending Reagan's presidency, the fact he was a paid representative for GE and the defense industry etc etc.

I don't think any president is anything other than a mouthpiece chosen by the PTB

However, that said, he was great at those debates and he demolished poor Carter ..who was not a bad man, but was a bad wizard....

But as someone who understands geology, Coal guys, is a waste, the coal that is left for us to harvest is not clean, it is not efficient and it is not worth our time, we will have to destroy mountain tops and rid the U.S. of everything it considered beautiful, If anyone thinks coal is the way to go, then they are ignorant to the different types of coal that exist in the U.S. that being only the low grade...All of the good grade and even high grade coal has been used and destroyed over the last 100 years...The only coal that is left is just the shit that is 70% Sulfar rich and not worth the money it takes to gain it...

Too bad abortion wasn't brought up, it's the first consideration I make when choosing a candidate...
 Quoting: BRIEF

Obama voted four times to allow aborted babies who survived the abortion to be allowed to die. He was the only person to vote for it.

Romney has changed from being prochoice to prolife.

Obama appointed Kagen and and Sotomayor to the Supreme Court - imagine his appointing two or three more like that.
