If you were a student of DOOM, you'd realize given the current events, one shell could lead to an invasion! Do you not remember "the shot heard around the world" the American Revolutionary War. This 1775 first shot was fired during an armed standoff between British forces and local militia in Lexington. |
goodmockingbird User ID: 11364251 United States 10/04/2012 03:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In case no one else bothered to read the story, PM Erdogan made his statement about the latest shelling in a joint news conference with Iran’s Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi. The Turks know that this is chess, not checkers. They are an ancient and wiley civilisation. Watch for measured -- vigourous but measured -- responses to the probing attacks on their border. They will not be quick to serve as anybody's catspaw. And certainly not Israel's. I Support Our First Responders |

It was more than likely the backed rebels that fired these mortars to gain the support of Turkey. Everything is suspect Bro ! |

Iran MUST get involved as Syria big ally. Israel uses Irans distraction to attack nuclear / military facilities. Iran retaliates through Hormuz shut down and massive Hamas assault on Southern Israel. Getting the picture as to how close we are to WW3? Very. And I do not want it to happen. |

So Israel has finally managed to get NATO do their dirty work. Just wow. You'd expect certain Middle Eastern countries to be sellout's but Turkey? Unbelievable. Me thinks Erdogen by getting involved in the Syria conflict has walked straight into a trap. What a tool! But he's not walking into the trap. He made a proportionate response, and has wisely withdrawn his population back from the border. Far from cowardice, this is wise and prudent. Turkiye has the wherewithal and the ability to do just about whatever it wants to. And the Turks are nobody's tool or catspaw. Last night as all this was breaking, my husband came in to follow the news with me. "Whose side is Turkiye on?" he asked me. "Turkiye is on Turkiye's side," I told him. And I do believe that. Notice -- again -- how Erdogan was making a joint statement with the vice president of Iran(!) to break today's newest shelling incident. The Turks have made it clear they will defend their borders, and Erdogan suggested no one test that resolve. No, they are wise to how they are being played, and are not falling for it.
