I knew you must be in CA. I am in the San Diego area! Went up a bunch in the last week, and even today.

Yeppers guys. I recently bought a 2003 honda insight and so far, I've been able to get 56 mpg in it. I'm about to do the oil and a new air filter to boost it. I love the little car. Some of you might consider getting one with everything that's going on. Just keep in mind, it's only the 2000-2006 models that get that kind of mileage. Hope this helps you.

same here. 1996 extended cab short bed 4.3L Vortec, 180 hp, 245 tq, rebuilt tranny, new fuel pump, alternator, acdelco cap rotor platinum plugs, wires, new spider, egr, new ac compressor, rear air suspension, new radiator new bf goodrich at tires. no codes and no mil. getting 27 combined mpg empty. dragging a very hard to see wire hanging off the hitch in case of emp. going to rebuild the brakes before it gets too cold out.

looks like an average inconspicuous beater truck complete with limo tint and headache rack but it will putt on down the road. best of all, no payments.

Gas still isnt high enought to off set the price of a new 56mpg car...New car would be in the junkyard before one would break even...I havent had a car payment in 21yrs and get 20mpg from a truck...Try that...it feels so good!!

Simply raise your labor rates. That's what I've been doing. One man hour used to be $35, now it's $42. 20% increase in about a year. All my customers are rich and don't complain. Next spring after the new tax increases come into effect, I'm jacking rates up to $50 man/hour.
