I do compare the two. I rate Christianity a lot worse though, if you were even half the loving Christian that you claim to be you would have empathy toward this kid. You call it loving your neighbour to deny something that this kid worked hard for, simply because he is gay? I bet you wear mixed fabrics, don't you? Gay people don't hurt anyone by being gay, it's not a choice. But you choose to be Christian and you choose to hurt people with that choice.

It's not easy to become an Eagle Scout and it looks good on a resume.

It took guts to "come out" at that age and I genuinely feel bad for the young man.

But at the same time this is a free country and private organizations have the right to make their own rules...even if those rules are unfair.



This is not a simple matter , the Boy Scouts have a ban on gay scouts and leaders because of abuse ( sexual abuse ) that happened back in the 80's

This promted the BSA to ban all homosexuals from scouts in
1991.(Previous to this the only ban was for Scout Leaders)

Many consider this to be an over reaction

But ,because 60% of all scout troops are hosted by religious groups , if the Boy Scouts begin allowing openly gay scouts and leaders ........The scouts will see roughly half of their scout troops dissolved.


So basically the BSA is caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.
