It's not easy to become an Eagle Scout and it looks good on a resume.

It took guts to "come out" at that age and I genuinely feel bad for the young man.

But at the same time this is a free country and private organizations have the right to make their own rules...even if those rules are unfair.



This is not a simple matter , the Boy Scouts have a ban on gay scouts and leaders because of abuse ( sexual abuse ) that happened back in the 80's

A few of the older boys were molesting younger scouts at summer camps
(In the 1980's Boy Scouts ranged anywhere from 11-18 years old )

This promted the BSA to ban all homosexuals from scouts in
1991.(Previous to this the only ban was for Scout Leaders)

Many consider this to be an over reaction

But ,because 60% of all scout troops are hosted by religious groups , if the Boy Scouts begin allowing openly gay scouts and leaders ........The scouts will see roughly half of their scout troops dissolved.


So basically the BSA is caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.

On the side do realize that MANY of our so called 'representatives' in CONgress have been arrested for drunk driving, check fraud, failure to pay taxes, etc, but absolutely NOTHING is done about this? THIS is a perfect example of where 'zero tolerance' should come into play, especially since these so called reps continue with their criminal behavior yet are 'gifted' with excessively fat pensions and healthcare for life. more interesting to me is, how many people, once called out, state that they have no problem with gays, while the bile is still dripping from their lips.

Gays are not born from gays, or any homosexual acts. It's a choice caused by influence.
