Let me start off by saying that the Obama-Romney matchup in Denver was the worst presidential debate I’ve ever seen. I started off believing that we have to save the popcorn for Biden v. Ryan next week, and I’ll stick with that assertion.

In order to assess the debate, it is necessary to separate the style from the substance of the event. With regard to style, the moderator, Jim Lehrer, did a poor job providing structure, and added little to the debate. Better to have no moderator at all than a poor one.

It wasn't that Romney is a "Great Debater" ...he isn't


What happened last night was a combination of things

1. Obama is terrible at debates...he's good at giving "sermons" but if you go back to the 2008 election EVERY TIME Obama was in a debate with Hilary or McCain , his numbers went down.

2. Unlike 2008 , Obama has a record hanging around his neck.

Last election he promised that , if elected , he would cut the deficit ( of 680 billion ) in half.....his first three months in office he more than doubled it

Last election he said that a "Federal Debt of 11 trillion is inexcusable"....now its 16 trillion

Last election he promised that he would "Bring Americans Together"...he is the most partisan and divisive President of the last 100 years.

After Afghanistan, the "Drone war in Pakistan" and Lybia it would be absurd for him to run as an "Anti-War" candidate again.

Then there's the "Bank Bail Out","Auto Bail Out", "Stimulus" and "ObamaCare"...all of which was passed against the will of the majority of Americans.



3. People are getting sick and tired of "Blame Bush" ...its getting ridiculous.






To be blunt Obama has only two things going for him

1. He's the incumbent , he has the power of the Presidency to enhance his image.

2. The Press...but this is turning into a double edged weapon since the majority of Americans no longer trust the mainstream media.

That he is prepared to stay on until January, but that the Democrats will have to find another candidate to fight against Romney. What legally happens? Is such a scenario covered in the Constitution? Or would Biden immediately become Acting President AND the DNC candidate?!!

When Obama is faced with someone aware of his lies and shortcommings and failed promises he really responds with personal attacks and creative jive talk and he is almost a excellent bullshitter but in my opinion Bill Clinton still has him beat at the game of pseudo intellectualism.
