Its over for California...No Gas!! supply shortages!! Remember odd and even days??

California has (we) have our own "special" formula. That is crock #1 and the reason we can't get help from neighboring states. Our gas taxes are the highest so it is ,indeed,melt down mode. In a few weeks there are many ballot measures to vote on :They are tax increase after tax increase. Many are not going to drive to work =net loss.No leadership in Sacramento or at any government entity . Their only answer is to raise taxes. Yes,it's over.

Yeah youd think these tree huggers believe the air in Ca stays in Ca...Az and Nv get all our cleaner air and we get chinas really dirty air...this is what happens when the leaders have their heads in their asses!!! Gov MOON BEAM!!!

I grew up in Chicago, went to school in Santa Barbara, then worked in Hollywood in the art department in the film biz for 14 years, the back to SB where I owned my own business and had a great life. I got lucky and had a lot of good friends. Met and married my wife, a native Californian and we split, but we're like brother and sister.

I had some of the best experiences of my life there. Memories I never would have had if I didn't venture out and see a different way. I helped rescue a baby whale, got ordained and married a couple on the beach at sunset, scuba dove at the Channel Islands (mostly San Miguel),

There's good and and bad everywhere. I guess I just got lucky.

Another item : Many gas stations are not staying open because their fuel prices are so high no one is buying. They can't operate and are shut down.

The gas shortage in the early 70's was not a shortage but a price of oil problem...Hey thats about when all the musslin terror attacks started...Hum? Could the USA have been doing flase flags this long?? For oil?? I think so...

Prescott is a lot nicer than Phoenix. But I still miss the central coast and am headed back to the Morro Bay/Pismo area. Santa Barbara is great, but it's *kind of* expensive. For me the higher gas prices are worth it. There's so many things to do, beaches, mountains, etc, that don't cost anything. All I need is an ocean kayak, maybe a surfboard, mountain bike, fishing pole, scuba equipment, camera and I'm good to go.

It's not a bad harvest out here, and it might be the only U.S. state that can feed itself. Provide gas for trucking, or there are going to be some hungry people east of the Sierra.

I had a house on Hill St. in Santa Monica for years and loved it. Walked to crazy Venice, spent a lot of fun nights on the Third St. Promenade, lots of good restaurants and people watching.

The only reason I left WAS the traffic. I really miss the food there in Santa Monica and the west side though. And I studied martial arts with a fantastic master from Japan (on 5h St.) who was more into the intellectual/health aspect than kicking ass for a trophy.

I really had some great times living on the west side. But I could afford it because of the work I did. I've considered moving to Prescott though. Love to hike, archery and now I completely changed and work with dogs and there seems to be a lot there. We'll see.

Guys, don't forget that the California economy is the 8th largest in the world. Their Taxes pay for a lot of the US Federal Budget.

We've all been focused on the EU and Asia's budget crisis but what if the first global economy to fall is actually California? The Gov't could trigger a strategic global financial crisis, and then reset Cali with a stimulus, but at the same time watch other economies crumble in wake of the fall.

Or we could just invade Mexico...

I agree with the factual statements you made. My point was that BS regulation (including the ethanol mandates) caused the decrease in supply/shortage.

There are several factors but from within our own country, we have destroyed any competitive advantage we might have had. Disgusting.

It was VelVeeta. Wonderful for home-made mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, anything where you wanted melted cheese. A woman in our housing complex got "Commodities" every month - cheese, butter, milk, flour, beans, pasta, etc.(Now they just give you food stamps - wonder whatever happened to all of that extra food?) Anyway, I used to trade her a block of store-bought cheese for her VelVeeta since VelVeeta was too expensive in the store for me to buy.

Well that's just wonderful. The rest of the Mexican cartell will hitch rides on the oil rigs on their way back here. GREAT!

Really not great in prescott now days...I have a horse so old cowboy town was nice...but one has to chase the $$...you do know your PCH!!! and the people here have changed alot and not in a good way...they wont tell you but crimes way up and Santa monica's becoming a murder town...If you traine guard dogs you could make a buck here...I see new BMW's everday so someones making or stealing it someplace...it will come crashing down though...did you see the car chase last month of the bank robbers throwing money out the window?? See how many working age men and women that came out of there obama houses to cash in?? Lived on the Coast in Monterrey. Bailed in 2000, when home prices were still high, and never looked back. Best move we ever made.
