I know you were taking a jab at Christians when you made your post, but this statement of yours is quite thought-provoking.

If there were no punishments and no rewards, would I still follow, obey, and love God for no other reason than because it is the right thing to do? Would I still seek to love my neighbor as myself solely because it is right? Even if when all was said and done, I would not go to either heaven or hell?

Of course, I do believe there will be a judgment with punishments and rewards meted out, but still your comment was most thought-provoking.
