Premium is usually about 20 cents higher in price than regular but premium is cheaper here by $5.01. I'm guessing it was probably supposed to be $4.69 based on usual price schemes for gasoline. 76 is a Unocal brand that is owned by Conoco Phillips who merged with Chevron in 2005. It's a "branded" station so probably is not affected by the shortage. And just a note, Chevron, Shell and Texaco all run under the same blanket through joint venture and merger as well. Just a fun fact that most people didn't know because, well, they made sure to be very quiet about it. I know I was told to shhhh. |

How the fuck can you charge almost 10! a gallon for low grade and less than 5$ a gallon for higher grades... When you can substitute the higher grades for the lower grades... Which is what most fueling stations are doing during the low grade shortage. I would sue the hell out of those assholes... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12411641 United States 10/05/2012 03:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can't sue someone for listing a price Moran. Bunch of sue happy idiots. What are you 12? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23746394 Nobody can read either or note that the price was put in by an brand new account on the California gas prices website this evening. Somebody probably thought that they were being really freaking funny but I really feel sorry for the person who owns and operates that station. I hope to god they aren't a private owner and it's just a company store because that's just cruel to do. Do your homework before you rage: [link to www.californiagasprices.com] Thinking it's more likely someone deliberately trying to cause a panic than an oops at this point. funny thing is, I wonder if the owner can sue...hmmm. |

There is a shortage of 87 octane im pretty sure this is legit..seen a few more above 9 pop up minutes ago. some stations have zero fuel, except high grades Shouldn't consider it legit as a price when you have somebody who just made an account this evening putting the price in. You don't know much about the gas business, do you? There's also theory #2 that isn't being considered. There are three stations that have prices listed for reg at the $9 mark. One shows $9.99 for each and that'd be Arco. Arco is owned by Tesoro, which is a small fry compared to the bigger guys. I actually liked the Tesoro VP when he took me to the Mariners game and brought me ontstage at a jazz festival to listen to the singing. Nice fellow. Anyways, Tesoro is having some pipeline related supply issues so that could be why the Arco is showing 9.99. Could be a way of saying--don't bother going here, they are out as the site doesn't have anything like that sort of designation that I recall in my years of being registered on it. Always a possibility for the 76 and Qwik Korner, too. The latter of the two is definitely an independent and most likely out or they were forced to purchase the really expensive unbranded gas off the rack. Cheers. |
