I'm presently in San Jose CR. I can walk anywhere in the city at any hour and not worry about my physical safety. Even if you are by chance robbed, Getting physically assaulted only occurs on very rare occasions and the police investigate these incidents with greater veracity than you do in the States when a murder occurs.
