Congratulations on your success, OP. The reason you are successful is because you work hard and you enjoy an environment that gives you the security to know that hard work will produce benefit to you. If it weren't for the roads in this county, law enforcement, jails, schools, and other public goods, your hard work would not produce the same results. A woman in Africa who has to walk 5 miles everyday for water works just as hard as you. But she lives in a place where public goods do not allow her maximize the benefit she gains from her labor. You take for granted that you simply turn a faucet and get water. But without the public utility system, much of the time you spend making oodles of money would be spent looking for food and water.

Stop being ungrateful and stop taking how good you have it for granted. As a wealthy person, you benefit from the public goods in this country far more than other people. As someone who makes in the mid six figures myself, I can tell you that you could pay another $100k per year in taxes and it would not affect your lifestyle. I could pay an extra $10k per year in taxes and I would be fine. Pay for America or America will be gone, and with it, the environment and public goods that have allowed you to be enormously successful.
