I live in Texas, price of gas has been falling here...now 3.32 for regular at the RaceWay. Diesel about 3.65

Not that $4.75 isn't totally fucking outrageous.

A lot of stations are closing because they are paying too much for it to make a profit. They don't want to charge 5 bucks a gallon, so they just shut down instead.

I'm 90 miles from there. Don't see those prices on the boards. Maybe a typo? Can't figure it would be that much of a typo in so many places though.

Diesel is generally priced higher than unleaded gases. Usually about 60 cents per gallon higher but you're right. No logical sense to it. Before panicking though, let me point out a couple things that I'm seeing. First off, there's a huge disparity between what these few stations are charging and their closest competitors like this 76 station:

Second thing I see is that many of these prices have been posted by the same user account on the website--mpdozer. There were already some hijinks going on with this site last night that were corrected last night. I'm wondering if something similar is happening again. Regardless of whether the prices that these stations are charging for diesel are real or not, it doesn't matter much when their competitors are charging $2 less a gallon for diesel virtually across the street.

In other words, which one would you buy from? The guy charging $6 for diesel or the guy charging $4.29 for diesel across the street? Major transport doesn't usually get gas from your typical gas stations anyways.

Want to control the prices? Don't cause a panic.

Yup...and when we pay more for fuel they're gona scream when we pass the overhead onto them. Higher prices here means higher prices everywhere. Those who wish sorrows on America are gona shat themselves when we stop sending them so much...and what we do send doubles or triples in price.
