Quit whining. It's only in California

Uh, yeah.... The 5th largest economy IN THE WORLD.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24521357

With 40 million people in it. Such wonderful love for fellow humanity. We're out here making and building what moves most of this country. Our dairies and agriculture feed most of the country and half the world. Without us you die.
 Quoting: American Trappers, LLC

I don't think we'll all die but you are right. Things will get tough. If Cali has fuel issues, where will it come from? Where does a lot of food come from? Even if people get food locally, Cali is still a factor.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24613830

Cali supplies water to 3 states, power all the way to Colorado, food to every state in the U.S., education to millions of nonresidents, etc. Our economy is vital, even as trashed as it is. Our agriculture is all that saved the mid west this year. I deal in hay and I can tell you for the time in several years there is no extra hay in the barns here. We sold millions of tons to the mid west and foreign countries to keep their cattle/horses/sheep/goats alive. Because of that, I used to get alfalfa for 175/ton, now it's 365/ton. All because we saved a lot of other people and now we're paying the price for it. That's the whole reason behind the massive cattle slaughter the day after Bernanke printed that last 1 trillion. He promised to subsidize the meat markets because they would lose money by putting so much meat into the market at once but they couldn't find feet to keep their cattle going until late october like normal.
