Why do people admire Steve Jobs? He was a cruel, demanding control freak. | |

d1k User ID: 23750037 Canada 10/06/2012 02:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and was offered a job from Apple four years ago. The nearest apple store is in Toronto which is 45 minutes away, they had plans to build one here in Hamilton. After weeks of back and forth with their HR guy they wouldn't budge on the salary offer, which was almost slave labour. They wanted me to work 12 hour shifts Mon - Sat, 7 hours on Sunday. On call 24x7. Opening and closing the store everyday and I had to train not only new Apple employees at the location but also Best Buy employees. They offered me $34,000.00 CAD a year with "sales compensation". I told them give me $60,000.00 a year with no sales compensation and we got a deal. They said no, so I said no. They never even ended up building the Apple store here, I'm going to assume part of the reason was no one here would be their bloody slave for such pathetic money. I never looked at Apple the same after that. I should note the HR clown kept dropping the Apple name saying things like "you'd be working for APPLE!, you'd be the APPLE guy for Hamilton, don't you want to work for APPLE?!?" |

I used to work @ a company with an ex Applestore CEO as an investor...very nice person on the surface, but there was definitely something very strange and "under" about 'em. I don't understand though why they need to have a mgr on call and working over 70 hours a week...just hire another part timer assistant mgr and don't give them benefits and adjust salaries accordingly...if that is how they want to play. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1271534 United States 10/06/2012 03:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | kinda weird that their Logo is and apple with a bite taken out of it...their first computer was priced @ $666.66...??? Quoting: noname 25070881 never really thought of it that way, or knew the first ones were 666 dollars...it says in an article that they sold for 500 to a shop and then marked up 1/3...but that makes no sense because 1/3 is not a typical wholesale markup....1/2 is... |
noname User ID: 25070881 United States 10/06/2012 04:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yea...they had a documentary on some channel..of course they praised his creativity and innovation. most elites are involved in some type of secret society..the meaning behind the logo and price speaks volumes. In fact most all of the big companies have these strange logos that the normal person takes for granted. These logos have a deeper meaning...we are in very evil times people. |

Or is it just more drivel and complaining by a bunch of pansy men with no balls? Seriously, this sort of mindless crap is what I would expect in a women's gossip magazine. |

He didn't give a shit about anyone working for him. It was all about winning, at any cost. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12744798 I find it quite telling that this maniac would be held up as a role model for kids and as an example of "success". I found him a sad, suffering and lonely fool. I don't envy his so called "success" at all... Most apple product fans are. |
