Congressman on science committee : evolution and big bang theory : lies from pits of hell
And the guy believes that the Earth is 9000 years old...

LOL!

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA): Evolution, Big Bang ‘Lies Straight From The Pit Of Hell’

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) tore into scientists as tools of the devil in a speech at the Liberty Baptist Church Sportsman’s Banquet last month.

“All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell,” Broun said. “And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”

According to Broun, the scientific plot was primarily concerned with hiding the true age of the Earth. Broun serves on the House Science Committee, which came under scrutiny recently after another one of its Republican members, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), suggested that victims of “legitimate rape” have unnamed biological defenses against pregnancy.

“You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I’ve found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth,” he said. “I don’t believe that the Earth’s but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That’s what the Bible says.”

This coming from someone who believes they mutated from slime billions of years ago?

Besides, he's right. Evolution is an antiquated idea that became dogma before the field of genetics existed.

We don't see any kind of genetic mutations that account for darwinian evolution. It's more of a religion now than anything.

There is plenty of scientific dissent now against Evolution that is being actively censored.

Educate yourself... plenty of links in this thread.

Awesome vid link. Ty! I didn't see anything in it about god or jesus tho... and i dont remember anything bout dna in the Bible.

If evolution is wrong, it does not automatically make (any of the many) religion(s) right...
Consider the possibility that you order yourself into being from chaos... You do this, always, in all ways. This "ordering" has resulted in the possibilities you're experiencing, here, now. In each experience you've ever had, more and more of "this" reality is generated logically from your previous experience. Your observation of this unfolding of order and chaos is reality.

letting religious nuts near government will always produce such tripe

we are all going to die, some deal with it via fairy tales that contradict reality.

it helps no one and leads to suffering here in this life, which is the closest thing to the 'pits of hell' they often rant about.

'belief ' is the biggest llie of all, a manufactured word for social control, and the truth is right their in its spelling be lie f . it's original spelling is belies.

to be fair the religious aren't the only ones to invent words to suit their morals and methods, the english language is full of them.

ie addict an indivdual incapable of cessation or reduction of the use of a substance or behaviour.

invented by doctors to lie to the patients they were prescribing opiates to while the countries they used to produce the drugs were populated by those of lesser moral fiber and became addicts.

from the god perspective he is most likely right.

If you were a fish in a fish bowl you could not possibly observe the galaxy and its context the way a human can.

If you were a man observing the galaxy through a telescope, do you really think you could see the big picture?

Time is only relevant because we are orbiting a sun.

You're on a conspiracy sight that deals with distrust of our governments yet you all trust what the government sponsored schools taught you.

How many people believe in evolution simply because they read it in "a book" somewhere back in high school. "It must be true cuz we learnt it in skool!"

Religion isn't the only means they've used with to control people. You're a fool if you believe otherwise.

God may have created everything in 7 days, but each God Day is not the same as human days. God Days could be a million or a billion human days. Time is a human made construct. Does God abide by the same timeframe as humans? Has God only been around 9000 years too?

Re: Congressman on science committee : evolution and big bang theory : lies from pits of hell
God's favorite angel (Lucifer) turns on him and becomes evil. God creates Adam and Eve. They sin. God destroys the world except for only 8 people, and repents he ever created humans. God destroys the tower of Babel and confounds the builders as a punishment for trying to reach heaven. God expects us to love and worship him, based on writings from people far in the past. The people today have umpteen believes, and almost all claim they're right and all others are wrong.
Failure after failure after failure...from a perfect, loving God?
When are you people who believe in this God ever going to quit hypnotizing yourselves, do some real research besides asking your preacher or reading religious material, and find out who and why the Catholic church (the first Christian church) and the Bible were created? When are you ever going to put two and two together and realize that DNA enforces the theory of evolution? (Seems to me DNA would be the VERY place to disprove evolution...if this "loving, caring" God really existed).
Science has never once stated there is no God. I would never put stock in any scientist who says "I'm going to prove there is no God with my theories" just as I'd never put trust in anyone who says "I'm going to prove God exists through my theories". Science is research in a quest for knowledge of how our physical world works and has no position on the existence of God. It finds what it finds.
One of the first scientific discoveries was that the earth is a sphere. Do you deny that? Then the discovery that the earth revolves around the sun. Do you deny that? Science discovered ways to cure illnesses. Do you deny that? Shall we not treat ourselves if science can cure, because if we do get sick, it's God will and science is "against God"?
Please, people...please...use your common sense. Maybe there is a God, but the bible/religion is definitely not the place to find him...or her...or it.
