It is already illegal to take a gun onto
private property without the property owners
knowledge and permission.
You bring a gun, ESPECIALLY a concealed gun
onto my property and I will shoot you dead
the second I discover it. No exceptions,
no questions.
I can ONLY assume you came to harm me and
in fear of my life and standing my ground
I defended my life.

It looks like "Wild Bill" Patraun and Teddy "Make my day" celeste want to be voted out of office. In Pennsylvania when concealed carry was passed The democrates said it would be like the wild west. Blood would flow in the streets. Fender benders would become shoot outs. Instead crime went down. There where no "shoot outs". The sky didn't fall. Law abiding people could protect themselves. Nothing bad happened.

Re: Bill introduced in Ohio would effectively ban concealed carry without repealing it.
This is how they want to circumvent CCW without repealing CCW. This tactic will be coming to your state soon, be aware!

You would not even be allowed to have a gun in your own apartment or rented home without permission.

Article; Two Ohio Democrat State Representatives, Bill Patmon and Ted Celeste, are co-sponsoring a bill "to generally prohibit a person from having a firearm on privately owned land or premises unless the person owns, controls, or resides on or in the land or premises, has permission of the owner or person who controls the land or premises and, if the land or premises is rental property, of the tenant when required, or is the tenant with respect to those premises." The bill specifies that it "applies to any person, including a concealed handgun licensee."

HB595 would essentially reverse current law, which allows concealed carry on private property unless a sign is posted requesting that law-abiding CHL-holders stay out, and replace it with a requirement that CHLs would need to obtain permission to carry almost anywhere they go. That permission could come in the form of a sign specifically granting permission to CHL-holders, or by the CHL-holder obtaining permission either orally or in writing. The bill would even require non-tenants on rented or leased property to obtain permission to bring a firearm on the property. Short of obtaining that permission, the gun owner or concealed handgun licensee would not be allowed to go on the property, visit a place of business, or even to keep a gun in their friend's apartment or place of business (if they lease).

besides imo guns wont be the key factor; they have become in a way insignificant; the biggest threat is awareness, and isolating the establishment via exposure and non participation; rendering the system illegitimate; which it is already.

great catch by the OP but i do agree with the others that this won't pass. Gun owners are one of the few groups who are ready to take their concerns all the way to Washington, or state gov'ts, or wherever they have to in order to get their point across. NRA emails going out in 3, 2, 1....

First, I doubt it will pass, but it certainly is a first step attempt at limiting 2nd Amendment rights, and another reason "progressives" need to be removed from office.

Remember:
The key point here is concealed.

A person has the right to refuse a search, a search can only be conducted with probable cause. If anyone asks to search you -- REFUSE! Then leave. If they ask why you refuse, either do not answer or make some comment about not buying their excuse to feel someone up -- be insulted & indignant, then leave.

If the weapon is properly concealed, i.e. not in a shoulder holster bulging through a jacket, then they have zero cause to reasonably believe you are carrying.

Lot of this bill is fear mongering touted to people who have never been around a gun and just have hollywood ideas about guns & no real world experience with them.

Unless you have a link I'm calling :BSFLAG; on this. There are State specific laws prohibiting trespassing and hunting without permission but once you trespass I don't know of any laws the describe what you can and cannot carry after the fact.

A little more complicated than that.

I assume you are posting from a prison computer? That is where you will end up for killing someone without reasonable belief your life is in danger. The mere fact someone is carrying concealed is insufficient. I carry concealed but am no threat to you or anybody else unless you attack me.

Chances are if you had a landscaper, or any other craftsman come by to give work estimates, they were carrying. They carry to protect themselves from crazies like you.

Re: Bill introduced in Ohio would effectively ban concealed carry without repealing it.
Based on the language of the proposed bill that has the words “person owns, controls” caused me to do some additional research on “who owns the property when it is mortgaged.”

While I trust nothing on the WWW when it comes to legal issues, I did find something that makes me take pause …

In some states, known as "title theory" states, the lender keeps the title and owns the house until the borrower pays off the loan. In "lien theory" states, the borrower holds the title and owns the house, but the mortgage note gives the lender the right to seize and sell the house for non-payment.
(found the above here [link to homeguides.sfgate.com]

If Ohio is a “Title Theory” State, then this proposed law could mean that the mortgage holder would need to provide permission to have a gun on “their” property.

Have fun with this little twist …
