In just the past two years, I have seen several small bisinesses open up in my area. They are all closed now. They could not make it with the huge overhead in taxes, fees and unfunded mandates they must comply with. 30 or 40 years ago your "just do it" attitude would work. Not today.

It's ok to ask others to help you if you need it. But if I say "Listen i've got a great idea for you", then how many others are going to use that idea? Some times you really have to depend on other peoples LOVE, but once you've depended on someone's LOVE everything else that comes out of your brain must somehow be directed back to them. I spend around 950 hours a years ACTUALLY WORKING, about 100 hours a year fishing for more work, another 100 or so maintaining my equipment, about 150 hours a year on non-government clerical stuff, and about 800 hours a year on GOVERNMENT COMPLIANCE.

I'm in aviation.

Our middle class is in China and it ain't coming back...

I had my own business but it was luxury items. When Obama was elected, my business fell like a rock as people immediately began to fear what was ahead including the taxes and Obamacare.

Went from a nice supplemental income to not selling enough to pay the bills.

So I know the economy is a factor and not one that can be overcome with just a positive attitude.

As far as the FED is concerned that is the biggest load of crap I've heard today. Maybe your talking about your STATE?

Well gee now that all the Unions are gone or about to be...Good luck with getting a decent wage. I mean look at your own chart man and read a paper. They killed workers rights along with lower your wages. The jokes on the slave.

Maybe I see things differently but I know 4 people who have bought new cars and the real estate market in my area is not doing bad for an election year when it is typically way down. Everytime I go to the store, restaurants or anywhere which is often, people are out BUYING and spending. The dow doesn't look bad either...maybe I live in la la land as a self employed individual also.

They dumbed us down...then lowered your wages...
