Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 25041268 China 10/05/2012 10:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been keeping an eye on the situation via Twitter as well, which is a great source of breaking news. In the last few hours there have been more exchanges of fire between Turkey and Syria, with rumours that either side may send a substantial deployment of heavy armour beyond the buffer zone to up the ante. Russia is also warning Turkey to back off Syria (there is significant historical enmity between Russia and Turkey). Peace out. |

It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |
Turkey and Israel User ID: 4603964 United States 10/06/2012 12:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi again guys, Quoting: The Tauremini I remember about this time last year there were theories abound as to how the West is planning on handling the situation in Syria and Iran (and by extension, Lebanon and Gaza). One that stood out was the possibility that America's two key allies in the region (Israel and Turkey) would simultaneously strike deep into Iran and Syria respectively. At the time, it seemed unlikely due to ongoing diplomacy between the major powers. Now, however, it seems the gloves are off. Turkey has been shelling Syria for three days now. This is because Syria is continuing to shell Turkey. As for Israel and Iran, the US election is coming up and a decision has to be made shortly if Israel wants to get its way before a Romney administration justifies the sale of Russian S-300 air defence systems to Iran. To kill two birds with the one stone, Turkey and Israel may use the next four weeks to remove the Syria-Iran-Hezbollah axis in time for a clean slate with their biggest ally, the U.S after the November elections. Remember Syria and Iran share a strategic defence pact, like NATO shares a strategic defence pact. If one goes to full-scale war with an outside power, the other enters the conflict and opens a second front in order to crush the offensive. Iran has been doing this in Syria since August. Now might be the time for Turkey and Israel, who are both on maximum battle readiness, to take the gamble that only comes around every so often. In failing to do this, they might emerge the losers. It's food for thought. Losers of what? What does Turkey and Israel stand to lose if they don't attack? Also, it seems like the situation between Syria and Turkey is a false flag to instigate the war that you are hyping. |

I think what OP is trying to say is that if they sit by and do nothing, Assad may lay waste to the FSA and Iran might actually get the bomb one day. Neither situation is ideal for Turkey and Israel. Just my take but that's how I read it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1346441 Let see it OP...give evidence that Romney is arming Israel's enemy. Otherwise we know what you are.... No offence, but please re-read my post, this time more carefully. I never said Romney is selling Iran weapons. What I said was that a Romney victory would justify the RUSSIAN sale of RUSSIAN S-300 air defence systems to Iran. I hope that clears it up. |

Huh... Quoting: AtlasShrugged AtlasShrugged, I've actually been around on GLP for about five years. By the way, I mean no ill will to you personally. What has happened today or lately to make you so unnecessarily aggressive and defensive? This is an honest question, Atlashrugged. I hope everything is ok with you :-/ Anyway, not to deviate from the point of this thread (which I think is important), anyone who has contributing information or theories about this impending regional war, your thoughts are welcome. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25002222 Starting wars is how the Beeb keeps himself in power. I've seen this video before I think. It's an interesting addition to the powderkeg. There are elections scheduled soon in Israel, and Bibi faces some formidable opposition. It'll play a massive part in the whole situation over there I think. Jordan is also about to succumb to the Arab Spring; I think there are about a million chanting in Amman today for the King to step down. Interesting times. |
