OP...you do have your life ahead of you and are doing far better than many. Not sure what your degree is, but if it is not in a high demand field, it isn't too late...do your research on where the jobs are, and either get a certificate vocational type skill like radiation tech or a grad degree in a high demand field. Trust me, employment and good pay is a good thing. It doesn't bring happiness alone, bot it is more challenging to find happiness without it. And there are many ways to get it without compromising your values.

What happened is the idiot hippie boomer generation voted themselves free money from the treasury, consolidated jobs & natural resources overseas because we couldn't hurt mother nature in America. Voted on destroying manufacturing jobs in the United States for their idiot hippie liberal agenda. Decided it was great to destroy moral values & tell people they could rack up credit card dept, buy homes they couldn't afford, get college degrees in liberal arts fields that have zero applicability beyond the classroom and 'succeed at life'.

Most of all, they encouraged the paradigm that 'Everyone gets a trophy'. Guess what. They don't. Thanks for sinking the fucking country and destroying it for your children.
