FISC fuel farms are always full - there is no place to store "extra" fuel.

They could be asking refineries to hold fuel aside in there own tank systems, or even loaded on tankers. California fuel being high could be explained by local mishaps. But why nationwide is gas unusually high with respect to crude oil prices?

The US military is the biggest purchaser of oil in the world.

In order to cause such a large spike in gas prices, a major event must be underway. There is no way that a refinery fire that happened two months ago is going to cause this kind of price surge. Either the US is in preparation for a major war or some event will take place that will cause a major disruption in gasoline production/delivery and this is just the market reacting in advance.

Like I have been saying for over 2 months the oil men hate Obama.I stated ,several times, that gasoline would be @ 5$ a gallon by November 6 ,2012 ....that is election day here in the U.S. I under estimated,I'm in California, so gasoline is pushing 6$ per gallon. This is politics 2012 and this is just one of the October surprises poppy Bush has in store for you.

California uses a special summer gasoline blend that is not produced outside the state...

There are 18 refineries in California (excluding asphalt refineries) only 8 refine over 100k/day...

2 of the 8 major refineries were down this week.....
