You can save up to 50% off current monthly bills doing the following, and I have done all these things. (feel free to add to the list, and help others.)

1. Lower your mobile phone to the lowest plan, buy Ooma, skype, vonage etc. Can save you hundreds per year.

2. Run your laundry, dishwasher, or anything else large after 6:00pm for discounted power rates in certain areas. You can also air dry your clothes for free.

3. Buy rice, or beans in bulk bags at costco, bjs, or other club stores, and store them for up to 30 years in lowes/home depot buckets, and mylar bags, and use oxygen absorbers which both can be bought on amazon.

4. tint your house windows, and replace window screens with solar screen to reduce AC/heater costs.

5. add radiant barrier on your garage door, in your attic, or buy a solar attic fan.

Keep all your change somewhere.

Soon as you get home empty your pockets of excess change and put it in the container you have.

At the end of the year. Roll it all up.

I do it every year and always have at least $250.00

Set a budget and automatically save a certain amount every week that goes into your savings account

I take a 2 liter of soda to work at a cost of $1.59 and make it last all week, compared to the veding machine of 1.35 a pop.

when i make supper i double it and freeze for next week. I do this for 3 or 4 meals, saves me time and money.

once a week i make pancakes for dinner :)

when i buy meats i divide in one serving size and freeze, then just take out what i need and cook in the Nu Wave oven from frozen. usually 20 mins at most

I have lots of little secrets to save money. The most important thing is to document all of your spending. This way you can see where your money is going and what percentages you spend in certain categories such as: FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, ENTERTAINMENT, SOCIAL, ETC. Break your spending down and see EXACTLY where your money is going. Take control of your money, don't let it control you!

Here's a few easy tips anyone can do:

1. Carpool
2. Buy clothes and other items at thrift stores
3. Use Coupons
4. Pack your lunch for work/school
5. Stop dining out so much
6. Drink water
7. Instead of gym memberships, look up exercises on YouTube
8. Do-it-yourself home repairs. (Don't know how? Google it.)
9. Use the internet for entertainment
10. READ READ READ. I would suggest reading material that has something to do with personal finance or budgeting. You can never learn enough and there are countless tips available. For instance, this forum is a wonderful place to start.

:D I just finished a book called Money Saving Tips: A Poor Man's Guide to Prosperity. You can get it on Amazon. It is VERY USEFUL and easy to read. I inserted the link below.

[link to www.amazon.com]

I would also note that just Googling "money saving tips" will help you tremendously. Just use the internet at your disposal. Be creative! There are TONS of ideas and useful ways to save money. You just have to proactively seek these things and you will find them. Of course, it will take a little discipline, but it is well worth it!

I wish you all the best of luck! May your lives be wealthy, healthy, and satisfied!

Watch your electric bill go down when you unplug ALL appliances not in use, including your phone chargers, etc. Plugged in appliances continue to use electricity .... some to 50% even while not being used.

If your high definition television is plasma, connect it to a surge protector and turn off electricity when TV is not in use. You'll be amazed how much power plasma sets pull even when not turned on.

With these two tips I cut my electric bill in half.
