If it were the shortest distance the Asteroid would be sent plunging directly towards the sun, but would impact the Earth as we sweep right into its Path. Depending upon the speed imparted by the comet, the asteroid could hit Earth within a month of impact with the comet. That ain't good. Do have a system set up to defend Earth. I mean, let's face it, the United States has spent 17 Trillion on wars, but as best I can tell we have spent nothing to save the planet from an asteroid strike. Is any country planning on some sort of defense? |
