It's never accurate to use broad stereotypes for people. Culture has much more to do with forming those stereotypes than most people realize. A trait can't be considered intrinsic to a group of people unless there are absolutely no exceptions across time and culture, and we know that some cultures have been strongly matriarchal, though this is rare.

Our modern, western culture pushes materialism on everybody. They get the men to buy big, expensive toys like cars, trucks, boats, and property, while for women it's clothes, cosmetics, and other small but frequently replaced items.

Strong, well-adjusted adults of either sex do not try to control each other, or worry about ways to prevent it. They just are who they are, and know their own worth. And I highly dispute the spirituality claim, as well as the ridiculous claim that "a man has only his mind"-- as if anger, lust, and ego are not emotionally-charged. Really, you're operating under many erroneous assumptions based on pop psychology.
