OR AM I WRONG ...please help with your opinion Are you sure she's objecting to giving you any money, or may be just objecting to what you want to do with the money? Crossbow and survival gear??? Stop obsessing about things you can't change and the future. A crossbow and survival gear isn't going to make any difference if doom comes. Just enjoy your life. You should take a trip with your wife with the money, or put in a hot tub or something. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 24815162 United States 10/07/2012 12:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The love of money is the root of all evil. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18847658 Married people are supposed to share their resources. It sounds like you have a problem op. It sounds like you are loosing your oneness with the wife. Pull her aside and calmly tell her how she hurt you. See if you can work it out. If she really loves you she will be sad that she hurt you and take steps to fix it. Communication is the Key to a good relationship. Tell the truth, be sincere. see what happens. I can relate to this first hand. I inherited some money, and it all went to paying taxes. She came into some money on a settlement, and it was trips for the family, and things for the daughter, and trips, and even though I benefited at times from the windfall, had absolutely no say in how it was spent. Then came into some more money, and it all went towards the business, and medical trips for her. Now she wants me to buy a new car that I feel is too expensive, and have spent the last few days being the bad guy because I asked if she was paying for it out of her account. I love her, want to provide for her, but like everyone here says, I want it to be a team effort, and I know she sees us struggling, but I have been scraping for each and every bill lately, and the credit cards have been rising. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 15242038 United States 10/07/2012 12:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sorry, OP, that sounds more like an "arrangement" than a marriage. A true marriage is all for one, one for all. Of course she should share her windfall! As you should with her. What, if one of you buys a Lotto ticket out of "Your" salary, that person is the one who has say over the money? Ridiculous! Same concept. (Now if it was $100 in birthday money that's a little different, she should spend it on herself) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1183343 Anyway, where is she putting the money -- doesn't it end up in the joint checking account? You really need to have a talk with her and see if this is a marriage or not!!!! BABOOOMMMM!!!!! NAIL ON THE HEAD ALERT. I've been married for 2 years. this is my philosophy. When I hit hard times, and unemployment, my parents in law helped me and my wife. When we were in trouble, my parents helped us too. I pay the bills, but my wife will buy me something if I really need it..we share. Sharing is caring. You're not being greedy. That's not asking for much... |

Your paying off the mortgage with yours may be considered comingling of separate and joint property. OR AM I WRONG ...please help with your opinion Is this a second marriage? You said you are afraid that if you die your money will not go to your kids. Simple solution, make out a will! Your kids will get what you want them to have. If you are fighting over money (400 bucks) your have bigger problems than what you are presenting here. Most married guys know how women think..What is mine is mine, and what is yours is mine! LOL Is this the first time in her life she has money that she can call her own? If so, Let her have a little fun, its no big deal. Not a life changer.... If you love her....Just love her ..and get over it. Remember, It's all just material things that you can't take with you when your time on this earth is done. If you have love, trust and respect in your marriage, that is something that money can not buy. If you don't...then you are married to the wrong woman and it might be time to move on. Good Luck OP. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19129589 United States 10/07/2012 12:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For OP and all men in general. If you have children from any previous relationships do the right thing and get a will done and itemize everything you want your kids to have!! I have seen too many steps do wrong once their spouse dies. You think that loving woman wouldn't ever do that to your kids tho right? WRONG Death brings out the worst in people. And for some reason it seems like it's the step moms that are the worst perpetrators against the step kids upon dads death. Just do a search about step parents, there are sites out there that cater to step parents to whine and rant about their evil step kids. You want truth go to those sites. Whatever you do get a will made and itemize what each kid gets as far as money and personal effects. Make sure everyone knows who the lawyer is and where the copies are. BTW the fact that when you came into money and paid for her house with it and now is acting this way.... totally wrong. Two years ago I hit for a royal flush on the ultimate texas holdem table. The money I won was OURS. Although I did stipulate 500 was to be set aside for my daughters prom, but still the money was ours. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24419775 United States 10/07/2012 09:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | all women do this, its called being conceited. the trick is to cut off as much as you can from her that you pay for. an iphone bill or something and bammo shes back in the kitchen. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18851393 Don't lump us all into one category. There's real women then there are girls who never really grew up to learn how to live in the real world. And honestly.. men can be the same way. I've met plenty of men who needed to cut the umbilical cord already. |
