Chrit User ID: 15366081 United States 10/07/2012 01:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All they see is $$$$ This all happened cause a guy made over a million bucks selling books on E-bay and they had no way to collect any taxes from it. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 25113645 United States 10/07/2012 01:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "resell"? How can you resell your stuff if you never sold it in the first place? All you did was buy it. The original seller is the one doing the "resell" if he extracts money, once again, for the object he sold in the first place. Just think about it. The original seller can extract money every time his product is sold at a garage sale or on Ebay etc. Used articles are sold over and over. Lots of buyer go to places to buy used things to take them to their place to sell them, and that person that buys from them, may have a garage sale and sell it at his place and on and on until it gets sold at the time of a person's death and starts all over again. |

This would put eBay out of business over night. Do you know what this will do to the market?!?!?! LOL - bye bye USA. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23597994 United States 10/07/2012 02:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this law will never pass, not because they care about your rights, but because it will open up huge blackmarket buying and selling and government will miss out on sales taxes Not so sure. There's already a huge black market, thru craigslist, ebay, etc. And it's unregulated because there's no obvious intent to circumvent the law, even though everyone knows sales tax will not be paid on cash transactions resulting from craigslist ads. But if this law is upheld, they could require documentation of saleability behind every craigslist ad, to "protect the copyright holders". Craigslist itself could be liable, which means the end of craigslist. Everything will have to go thru official channels. Freedom will take a huge hit. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 23597994 United States 10/07/2012 02:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Perhaps, but, if it becomes law it will be another nail in the coffin..another lame excuse for them to fine/imprison us, if they are looking for a reason to put us out of commission for a while..beat us down with fines, keep us dependent on them... think......what if they took it a step further and shipped offenders to the countries who had their copyright infringed upon, or allowed those countries to punish us under their law?? think Sharia/Islam..good way to get rid of some...not saying they would take it that far, but, who knows... Once it is in the books, there is no stopping them.. Why even let them get their foot in the door with this? You know, if you took this even a step further, we couldn't even sell our HOMES!! Think of all of the foreign building materials, right down to screws and nails and the paint on the walls, which go into constructing a house!!! What a bump for the homebuilding industry ... just what Obama wants. You'll have to buy a new house made of all new materials, newly built by illegal immigrants. |

Barter REALLY requires some sort of internet contact, like ebay or craigslist or something like that. Not only do you have to find someone offering what you want to get, but they have to want what you are willing to give in exchange. If this passes, internet ads could become illegal unless the poster proves they have the right to sell the item. |

This would take a HUGE chunk out of the "small business world", leaving more people desolate....dependent on the Government. Places like eBay, Craig's list, etc. will be gone. If someone creates something you want - such as a car - they have a right to decide the terms. They may only want to rent it to you or lease it for a period of time. There is no endowment by our Creator that says you have a right to sell another's effort. Anyone that feels they are entitled to profit from another person's invention is the communist. |

I hope and pray that a trigger to get people to STOP allowing this insanity, does exist. It's reached a point FAR beyond embarrassing, just how much unbelievable BULLSHIT people are willing to take. Your "government" prepares for war against you, while simultaneously making virtually everything illegal, and yet the domesticated zombies just take whatever The Scum That Be have in store for them. The average person breaks dozens of laws after getting out of bed in the morning. Not because they are criminals, but because there are MILLIONS of laws!! Will the current justices be seating in their seats this fall? i doubt it. They refused to oust the illegal immigrant in the white house. They refused to honor the OATH they took to uphold the US Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.....the next POTUS could remove all of them for violating their OATH of office. stay tuned....i think this current court of justices is history a VOTE for Mitt Romney is a VOTE for Ron Paul...i read where the electoral college has demanded proof from POTUS candidates of their eligibility...they will not cast their vote for another ineligible POTUS. Romney is not a natural born citizen Obama is not a citizen... Therefore, it is a very good possibility that the electoral college will elect Ron Paul, counting all Mitt Romney's votes, and give them to Ron Paul who is still a RNC Candidate. The beauty of the electoral college is, the two parties do not have access to the names in the college, it's secret; i don't think even other states know who they are other than their own state. If Ron Paul is elected; you can say adios to the setting justices. You can also say adios to the Federal Reserve Board and a slew of wasteful spending agencies....Ron Paul will trim the government and he will balance the budget...at his age, he has nothing to lose politically; by setting america back on track as a REPUBLIC, and getting rid of acts of congress that go against the US Constitution...i.e. Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and all other spending out of control acts of congress. |

Shut down ebay and craigslist resales and make people buy newly manufactured stuff. Agree, though, it's insane, a terrible idea. Sounds like just the sort of crap John Roberts (traitor) would vote for. John Roberts is a republican. This is a republican initiative. Therefore if John Roberts is a "traitor" he will vote against it and it will fail. THe republicans real wet dream to stimulate the economy is to kill off public libraries. This will force people to buy rather than borrow. Also resale of old items would hurt libraries too, because a lot of libraries are reselling old books dvds and cds to subsidize their budgets. So remember little republican sheep, buy buy buy, because it's all going bye bye bye real soon. |
