At least they've been making some welfare reform here in Michigan. Governor Snyder is only allowing people to collect cash benefits for four years. It's not four consecutive years, either. It's four years over your entire life. The most recent stipulation to welfare is that if you are collecting welfare, and your child misses ten days of school, unexcused, you are cut off. If your child goes back for 21 consecutive days, they will turn it on again. They've been working at stopping generational welfare. It hasn't increased crime, but has had an effect on people moving out of Michigan, to a state where they can collect.
