Cop doesn't have a warrant, kicks in the door anyway, gets five years for burglary.
In August, a jury found Christopher E. Hunt, 38, guilty of felony burglary and misdemeanor assault and property damage after a three-day trial that pitted police officer against police officer.

Ummmm, how about a free society doesn't tolerate law enforcement officers violating the law?

So , we're sending him to jail for doing his fucknig job? He was busting a meth cook -- he should be getting a metal, not prison time!

Don't get excited though, cop bashers -- cops rarely serve time, and if he does it will just be a very short while. And he will be in protective custody with special privileges, because he was a cop.

Volkert asked that Hunt get 15 years for the burglary charge, in part because he is a police officer.

"This is the type of person who makes other people doubt the entire system," she said.

And that would be an acute observation. And 15 yrs would have been adequate.

He said it was common knowledge that police officers stick together, but in this case officers from four different agencies had testified against Hunt.

"That's very telling to me," Sutherland said.

He also said that he didn't doubt that Hunt loved his job and was a brave man.

"But it appears that this defendant was intoxicated with the power of the badge," he said.

And that is shocking. To say the least. But justice has been upheld in this.

Good catch OP.

This almost never happens. They LOVE it when they can parade a case like in front of the public, so sheep will think that "most cops are good."

meanwhile, the fascist boot descends onto the the neck of society.

Wow... this is the third out of forth criminal cop story I have agreed with in the last week or so...

15 years is closer to the right number for this guy... 5 years and he is out in 1, if that. Not enough.

He must have been a pig of the squealing variety. By which I mean the kind that filed reports on other cops and all that shit.
