The Massachusetts pharmacy that made it has said it is cooperating with investigators. /snip If you didn't get the shot, you have very little to worry about. How the steroid got contaminated is going to be interesting. This cannot be spread human to human, and isn't a cause for panic. There are worse things out there waiting... Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet. |

| warriorsbond User ID: 24395869 10/07/2012 03:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | At least 91 people have been infected with an unusual type of meningitis caused by contaminated steroid injections, federal health officials said Sunday, with seven deaths. They are urging anyone who has had an injection for lower back pain to watch for symptoms of meningitis, which include a stiff neck and balance problems. Quoting: DoorBert Cases have been identified in nine states and health officials fear the numbers will rise as doctors check patients for the symptoms. Doctors and patients alike may not know to look for the unusual infection, which can takes weeks to develop after an injection. "Several of these patients have had strokes related to the meningitis," the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says in a statement posted on its website. [link to vitals.nbcnews.com] this is dangerous.Yet I see the paths of it. Like a lot of the peeps who need this are usually on disability. Its like they wanted an effective way to take out some of the population of them. too bad someone with some time on their hands couldnt look to see if there is other stuff targetting disabled or on medicare etc. it all adds up in the end to one big thing. sighs. I know. sorry. Just I see the patterns is all. Much thanks. :D |

What a nightmare for these folks...let me tell you the day I had mine the waiting room had at least 100 people in it there to get the same thing. And they do that every day-- think of the potential spread of this thing! Awful! T For Texas, T For Tennessee! If so, then it is an act of mass murder, and an attack on potentially thousands of victims. If it was intentional, and it the perpetrators are not of domestic origin, then it is an act of WAR! If it is domestic... They should hunt down the perps and inject them with their own creation. Simple justice! |

It will allow the DEA to crack down on compounding pharmacies, and complete the stranglehold of Big Pharma. Not to mention the end of compounding pharmacy's impact on veternary medicine... If your pets need pain meds after surgery, tough titty kitty... [link to www.avma.org (secure)] "The DEA argued that, by dispensing a controlled substance to a veterinarian rather than to the patient's owner, a pharmacy is "distributing," rather than "dispensing." According to the government, the pharmacy was operating beyond the scope of its registration as a retail pharmacy and was acting as a manufacturer and distributor of controlled substances and listed chemicals without the appropriate DEA registration. Specifically, the DEA believed that because the pharmacy was not preparing or compounding medications on an individualized patient basis, the pharmacy's activities constituted manufacturing under the Controlled Substances Act, and the pharmacy ought to have been registered as a manufacturer prior to conducting such activities." Notice that this controversy was about a steroid as well. Guess they made their point now.
