Air superiority means nothing when air planes can't land to refuel and to restock. and realistically Iran showed during the war games a few years ago that they can take down the US navy in a matter of minutes in those games. so i think in these days it's got nothing to do with Ego and Clout... its all got to do with the willingness to survive. History has shown time and time again... to make it 3/4 of the way through battle it's easy but to survive the last 1/4 takes something that very few have these days have...

There is no contest that the US military could not take the Iran military. There would be some casualties, sure. However, US would quickly own the skies . . .

What I would be more worried about is carnage in the US. This never occurred with Iraq, but you have to wonder with Iran.
