The OP's video brought up the discussion and in that ONE CASE ( someone at NPR said) it was dead.

However in all the subsequent videos, the animals are VERY MUCH ALIVE, and it's been established that this is a NORMAL practice in Japan. However you seem bent on ignoring every other video, as well as the fact that eating live animals happens frequently in Japan.

Are you not able to come to terms with it? Why would you continue harping on about that ONE video, when dozens of other videos as well as written explanation of the facts, goes on in the thread? Reminds me of Baghdad Bob!

is there a proposed solution or just another complaint anywhere in the near future?

what do you hope to accomplish?

come to terms with it yourself...that which you find distasteful and awful IS NOT GOING AWAY.

Speak for yourself.
As for me....China has a bad habit of gathering stray cats and dogs and treating them horribly, beating them and skinning them alive. The pelts often make their way to the US under different names.
In one such case a business in my city (similiar to Pier One Imports) was selling animal figurines that I felt looked suspicious, I purchased one, had some tests run, and it turns out they were made of domestic dog and cat fur. The business, a large importer, were horrified. My story made nightly TV, and as such, the business stopped importing the figurines, customers were able to return theirs for a refund, and the business donated a large sum of money to international groups working to end the torture of cats and dogs in China. The money helped fund undercover agents getting film from withing China, that allowed the US to begin their own investigation of imports coming from China. It then parlayed into a feature on the news magazine show 60 minutes and the newsmagazine 48 Hours/with Dan Rather. The cruelty is still going on but it is much reduced, and in some cases even the Chinese people are now being proactive in keeping dogs and cats from being killed for food and fur.

So...I think that it is ALWAYS a good thing to let others know what is going on, even if it's not going on in your own backyard. People CAN make a difference, IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS.
