Interestingly enough - The UK built many colonies in South Africa over two or three hundred years. Some of these colonies turned into viable and prosperous city/states. Eventually the local blacks got some of their kids sent to college in the west and began to demand self-rule. The ran the white man and his management expertise out. The local blacks took over the infrastructure the white man had built. They took over the businesses he built.

What had been built into a prosperous city devolved into a jungle tribe mentality and murders corruption within a few short years. The businesses were drien to bankruptcy by their black managers stealing them blind. Seems the locals were so used to stealing from the white establishment that when they finally got the businesses, they couldn't figure out or understand that they were now stealing and looting from themselves and their own people!
