Strange Roaring Sound Recorded in Northwest Louisiana - What the hell is this? | |
Madmacs User ID: 1178985 United States 10/08/2012 12:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The time was about 1:30 in the morning and this noise had already been going for a while. I decided to see if our camera could pick up the audio. Not sure what it is but I got in trouble last fall when I heard this noise every night and tried to go find where it was coming from. It sounds like it's coming from the sky and this time its twice as loud as it was last fall. I know it sounds mechanical in nature but almost sounds like some machine is flying in the sky but just hovering. And when the noise gets louder the wind picks up also. Recorded in northwest Louisiana. The sound is it's most intense starting 5:20 it's a joke right ?? |

We are in central Texas. We also have been smelling a weird acetone smell here. Last Edited by Five Forty Four A.M. on 10/08/2012 12:21 PM |

Maybe you were thinking how much better the sound would pick-up with a more expensive mic? Too bad your thoughts didn't arrive intact before your keen sarcastic abilities kicked in. Please look up the terms "Helmholtz Resonance" & "Reductio ad absurdum( [link to en.wikipedia.org] )" to prevent further dumbassery. Where's our 100th Monkey? Anonymous Coward User ID: 25122258 United States 10/08/2012 12:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We heard a tapping sound last night that reminded us of hammering nails into the walls. Except these must have been long nails because the tapping would go on for a good twenty beats then stop. Not sure what it is though. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6596609 Your right, it is underground..I think the op of the follwing thread is near enough correct. Even on the other pages, OP has said some theories as to what he thinks is going on. I think he is right with a lot of stuff he says.. Thread: Is This The Sound That People Have Been Hearing Around The World?? Is This What's Been Happening?? The Sound IS Beneath Us.... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4655644 United States 10/08/2012 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have heard this myself on one occasion. I have the feeling that the earth is being hollowed out from all the drilling, mining, fracking and pumping out mankind has been doing . I say bullshit to the idea that they fill up the voids with water, that is just a poor lie that only a fool would believe. I think a lot of the sounds are resounces in the earth's surface, like the difference in sound a 55 gallon drum makes when it is full verses when it is empty. If this has any truth to it, small tremors could carry much further distances or occur when they normally would not and might make sounds such as these. |

Recorded in northwest Louisiana. The sound is it's most intense starting 5:20 I heard something very similar last week. It was so pronounced, I was actually going to record it and post it here. Mine sounded a little more like those other videos from Russia...the moaning harmonic tone. This was like what you recorded, but with a little more harmonic. It was around 2-3am. I've actually been hearing it a lot lately. Green Lakes state park is nearby and has 2 natural lakes, one of which they haven't found the bottom and supposedly has underground waterways that connect all the way out to Lake Ontario [link to en.wikipedia.org] Maybe its the moans of Nessy? Shamad User ID: 22077029 United States 10/08/2012 01:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have heard the sound before It is natural gas being release from through a valve or perhaps coming up from the ground. I use to live near an area where they were tapping natural gas and every blue moon they would open the valve. It sounded like a jet engine and you could hear it from miles away. Whatever it is, is being carried on the wind so I'd try to figure out what was in the direction that the wind was blowing from. |

It sounds the same as the roar of gas coming from the 24 inch high pressure gas pipeline that ruptured recently near Millfield, Ohio. The resulting sustained flame was over 300 feet tall. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |
