Sending more Tanks & Missiles Syrian shell slams into Lebanon, says security official A shell launched from Syria crashed into northern Lebanon on Monday, as an exchange of cross-border gunfire also broke out in the area, a security official said. The shell landed near a deserted general security agency post on the Lebanese side of the border, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity, adding there were no casualties from the two incidents. The security post is situated in the Aboudiyeh region of northern Lebanon, near the Nahr Kabir border river. Lebanon's army has deployed additional troops and intensified its patrols along the border, the official said. Meanwhile, an official in the village of Sheikh Ayash said dozens of residents of the area near the river fled their homes because of the gunfight.
