This is Reformed theology. The word is not "ACCEPT" it is "believe". Jesus never told us to "accept" he tells us to "believe".

"Accept" is not Biblical, although you think you are a Bible thumper, probably. Accept stinks of works righteousness. A work you do. "Accept" comes from a ignorant southern USA misunderstanding of how the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of believers.

Christ works through His Church and His Means of Grace, The Bible, Baptism and the Lord's Supper. It is only through these means which the Holy Spirit works; not your own human power, reason, abilities, strength, etc. etc. You are nothing but a scum sinner.

God brings you to faith in Christ Jesus, you do not accept Jesus. Christ does not want your acceptance but He wants faith and belief.
