Uhm. They are not paid jack for the 2 years on inactive reserve status. But you are right, it was in the contract. I am a USAF Vet.

Syria-Turkey tensions soar

Syria has banned Turkish flights from its airspace and Turkey has made a similar tit-for-tat move, as regime forces pressed their counter-attack against rebels to regain territory lost in northern battlegrounds.


The reprisal for Turkey confiscating a cargo of what Russia said was radar equipment being flown from Moscow to Damascus came despite a flurry of diplomacy intended to calm soaring tensions between the neighbours.

Syria accuses Turkey of channelling ....

Hopefully its just away training like someone else mentioned. I have known plenty of people who joined the military for various reasons then get married and have kids and their hopes, dreams and ideas change. Even people in so called normal careers go through things like that.. they just don't have the worry of being deployed and the dangers that come with it.

I think OP was only trying to raise awareness that his brother may be heading out. This is what people do in a conspiracy forum. There are a lot of men and women being deployed right now. whether you support or believe in the reason for all of the new deployments or not, it does not mean they are not happening. Oddly enough, many fail to realize what happens on the other side of the world really does effect life where they are.

And you assholes need to understand that the guys who join are 17,18,19 years old most of the time. (yeah naive fucking parents sign over their 17 year old kids)How fucking smart were you at that age? Did you know how the world worked, were you not a naive highschool graduate also? These guys aren't joining to kill innocent people, they are joining to "fight for this country". Yes it makes no sense but in this world we live in, soldiers are heroes, they kick ass in movies, and daddy respects you for it. So show some compassion, they fucked up but they can't just quit the military. You can't ask them to just quit, it doesn't work that way and it's not possible. Plus they'll lose everything and have dishonorable discharge stamped on their foreheads. You don't gotta support these bullshit wars but atleast show some compassion. It's not all black and white. They don't just join for a shitty paycheck, most of them join for the right reasons. It's just too bad wars aren't fought for the right reasons.
