Yeah, that shit. I had some of it and woke up without my pants and engaged to a young thing from Sichuan. I left the country never to return, if I go back I'm probably a dead man.

chinese have some genetic thing where they turn bright red when mixed with alchohol... if we could somehow find it and isolate it would be a great western solution for alchoholism.... public humilation.

methinks thats why they have weak booze.

interestngly, the ABC (america born chinese) tend to have a lesser version, if at all.... so it could be some kind of environmental thing.... a genetic addition to keep the vast population of china from srinking too much and gettin' BOLD.

Re: Beer drinker visiting China
While I have had decent Japanese beers, China has not produced a drinkable beer that I know of. It's like they have created a cheap knockoff of piss-water American style beers like Coors light. So they are poor versions of poor beer.

 Quoting: Doomwaffles

Its not, there is no such thing. Wine can be fortified to a port, but it is no longer a wine (around 20-25%). Distilled grapes can be used to create a brandy, but again, not a wine, and usually a max of 45% alchohol. Only certain herbal alcohols can be distilled to the 70% range.
