They don't like thick brush anymore than you do.
Look for food sources and have paientence.

Do not were camo clothing and do not go traipsing thru the brush. Find a good vantage point and sit and wait the deer will run by within range. Do not smoke. Try not to piss if you can. Bright clothing so you do not get shot by shitheads. That is also a reason to not go traipsing thru the brush. The other advice is the deer have an exellent sense of smell. And for Gods sake do not take woman with you! They do not know when to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

all the locals say when someone tries to venture through there they get an eerie feeling of being watched , and hair raises on the back of their necks, so they just turn around and run

You can be 100% prepared, but if you don't see any deer it doesn't matter. Get advice from the locals, stop in at the closest diner or truck-stop. They will have the best idea where to start and which direction the head.

There are crowded cattle ranches where they have to live and stand in their own shit and then at processing time they are hit on the head and electrocuted. but many are hoisted up, upside down still alive..

Black pepper will work to keep the flies away.
If you harvest, put a couple bags of ice into the chest cavity immediately after you field dress the animal. Get it cooled down quickly and into cold storage for about ten days before processing...
Your taste buds will thank you later.
