When you zoom in closer they look like strips of images with higher resolution then the images surrounding them. I don't think they would look that way if the entire are was shown in the same, higher, resolution. It's probably just sets of high res images captured by individual deployments.

They do look like nazca lines the way they are shown. Trippy.

I was going to say maybe pipelines or data cables, which are ran across the ocean floor, but that's not what that looks like.

To me, these look like strips that have been scanned with higher resolution sonar than the background area. I am guessing there are ships out there that have google equipment on them that are scanning the ocean floor. One thing this does is shows you how little we actually know about the deeps, look at how much area is still low res, that is all area that has only been mapped by satellite and soundings, not with the new sonar.

It is a known fact that populations tend to gather at the edges of water.... Keeping in mind that ocean levels were much lower due to the glaciers then it would lead yu to the conclusion that there are PLENTY of underwater ruins all over the world

yea thats where they used sonar to inspect the depts or maybe they were looking for something. but its just a higher level of detail realy in runs kinda like roads because they putt sonar on a boat and then where it floats it reads the ground

Wow, I saw something similar the other day, over in the Atlantic, by Bermuda, while looking of googlemaps. Just long, long "track" looking things in the middle of nowhere.

This is the correct answer, it's just the "strips" of high resolution images produced by some ship with sonar or some other survey tech.
