Thanks for the update, and please do vote. We all really need the change. Coal is the backbone of our power supply in this country, and Obama can only intend to weaken us by destroying that. We're still mining coal now, but we are shipping it to China by boat! China likes our coal enough that they are willing to pay the shipping cost.

I'm seeing more and more people get on board with Romney here in Ohio. Not that anyone can fix it. But the hatred for Obama is growing and they just want him out of there.....

I am a Union Boilermaker. I played the party line last election.

After a very long summer low in work, i finally got called for a job. I decided this morning on the drive in, i would not bring up politics. unlike here ,i have to see these guys every day for the next few months.

I didn't need to bring it up, it was the talk of the day. 15 men and not one for Obama.

All had watched the debate and the statement by Romney about his love of coal won every man. I was Surprised and shocked. We work on power plants and Obama's war on coal has already affected our lives !!

Not one, No one "on the fence" not one.

I won't be on here as much for awhile ( long drive , many hours) but I'll keep you posted.

The Coal Mining Union for the first time has not endorsed the Democrats. When Men are working and providing for their family's honestly a lot don't vote cause their working. Not This Time !!!! Just like me their mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

Thanks for this! And keep in mind ... Obama is a NUCLEAR supporter. His giving to "green energies" is just a cover for the fact that he is in the tank for big nuclear industries.

Check out "Exelon". They call themselves green and tout their wind & solar, but their big business is nuclear. They're based in Illinois which has more nuclear plants than any other state, of any size.

Obama as a state senator in Illinois secretly helped gut regulation of nuclear power plants. Exelon was his biggest supporter.

Ever since Fukushima happened, the U.S. has suppressed news reports on how bad the situation was, and still is. That's due to Obama.

The FDA/NRC *increased* the amount of radiation that is considered OK to be exposed to. That's Obama.

Finally, the capper: Obama's main Chicago henchman, David Axelrod, is a former Exelon executive!!!

Coal ain't perfect but I'll take my chances with that over what's happened to the poor people in Japan.

How do u feel about the GOP war on unions?
I am surprised to hear any union worker vote republican.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7061022

are you going to bring up the union's war on the worker? the rank and file are being sold a bill of goods which doesn't exist, but most workers can not work the jobs they want unless they are member of a union. it is a vicious cycle and while there was plenty of work it was ok and probably a workable relationship, but it isn't like that anymore.

the union leaders collect dues and pass it along to dems who then keep the leaders in power. after this election union rank and file need re-think their union elections too.

If everybody votes for Romney, Obama will still win. He is fixing the election. He has a company in sinking Spain that is going to count the votes, and they will report that stinky BO wins not matter how big a landslide Romney wins by. This is why the Associated Press just stated that they will not do exit polls in 19 states. For if they did, the cheating would be obvious. Now, without the exit polls, the votes that Spain counts will show BO as the winner; and there is nothing anybody can do about it but start a civil war. Don't get caught with your panties down. Lock and load. The UN is coming for you and your guns; as the USA slips and slides into communism.

Yes this is true... I know someone who won't vote republican simply because of the "right to work" here in Ohio that the Republicans are pushing. She is a union worker and that will knock @ 10 dollars off her pay. That is the only reason she is voting for Obama. Since it is personal, I didn't talk her out of it.

The only unions Obama really helps are the government worker unions like AFSCME and SEIU and their ilk. I'm a Teamster, and I don't see anyone in the skilled trade unions benefiting from what he's doing.

I live in SW PA and I'll tell you there are many Democrats who are not voting for him. In the primary, in my area, some counties had as many as 40% of the people who were registered Democrat who did not pull the lever for Obama. That's astounding, and if even half those votes go to Romney, PA itself might be in play.

In 2008, I received probably 5 flyers from Obama and none from McCain. This cycle, I've received 4 from Romney and none from Obama, so there's a ground game gap also.

On the ground, there have been people going to large minority neighborhoods trying to register people, but I've heard from several Democratic committee people that no one is interested in registering.

In 2008, Obama had young people and minorities voting for him in droves. While I doubt they're jumping to Romney, I do think they'll be staying home here and in other places. The projections based on the turn out model from that time will be dead wrong.

Obama and especially Romney are Union busters. You want to see the middle class take another huge hit, wait till the Unions are laid waste. The Unions set the bar for the pay scale and the non-Union workers benefit greatly from this.

Keep playing that Republican vs. Democrat game though.

i wonder how much of mr romney's money is in the industry or mr ryan's for that matter how much is any of all these so called conservitives money went out to help the needy americans during this hard time. how many of them created jobs just for the sake of people having some type of income and not be on the government payroll, how many gave up their pay since they already have enough the anwser to this and so many other questions is they don't give a fuck just like the other guys. they serve the same masters

Of course, you MUST be aware that when Romney's father died, Mitt took the ENTIRE amount he inherited (and apparently it was quite a bit - I think it was like 4 million dollars but I could be mistaken on the amount, but it was a LOT) and donated it to charity? Charities which "help needy Americans during this hard time"?

Silly me, I KNOW that you are aware of that little factoid! Now, which Master do you think that Mr. romney serves?

I never could understand that either. The only possible explanation was that in 2008 there was some sort of mass hypnotism involved so that each voter only heard what he/she WANTED to hear and blocked out anything which conflicted with their own ethics, morality, and conscience.

Let's hope that there are no lingering post-hypnotic suggestions this time around.

Major pisser for me about Obama & coal too. Those coal mines and coal plants are in some of the most economically depressed areas of our country and the people need the jobs and the electricity. Using EPA regulations to shut them down over some stupid cap and trade carbon tax derivative trading scheme is not only anti-American it lacks common sense. I support Romney, but neo-con rule and Israeli ass kissing makes me sick of both sides.

To the poster above who wondered what conservatives put their money on the line just to create jobs to keep people off of unemployment, I'd like to say...

A whole fucking lot of us. As a small business owner (30 employees) we operate on very tight margins but pay our staff well. The only jobs we've eliminated have been through attrition. Every week when I do payroll I love it because we contribute (and in some cases compose the entirety of) our employees personal economies. My assistant has a severely handicapped kid and she's a single mother. She needs us and we need her. I love writing paychecks. I wish I could write more of them. I hate this economy and the government's handcuffs on businesses. You take off the handcuffs and watch us go. WATCH. US. GO.

No, I wanted to know why the others that posted here that appear to be happy in their union are voting republican considering what went down in WI and OH?

Oh, are you referring to the Governors who actually had the balls to tell the PUBLIC Unions that the Taxpayers were up against a wall financially and that there was NO MORE MONEY for 30 per cent raises, 100 per cent taxpayer-covered health insurance, and lavish retirements? There have been NO "attacks" on PRIVATE Unions, those which are negotiating with PRIVATE companies and corporations.

I can only hope that the Governors of the OTHER 48 states have the guts to confront the greedy, grasping PUBLIC unions and tell them to either move into the 21st Century or move aside for someone who would LOVE to work and would consider themselves fortunate beyond belief to be working for HALF of what the PUBLIC union thugs seem to feel that they are entitled to.

Re: Why is Obama in Trouble ? I'll tell you my experience today.

WATCH. US. GO.

Yes.

Watch us go. Let loose the bullshit handcuffs of 1100.00 permit for a 900.00 roof overhang to keep the vehicle dry for an elderly person and cut the EPA bullshit of environmental impact studies that will deny you until a year later appeal.....

FUCK DEQ, FUCK EPA,.......... We have foreign companies coming in and doing the same jobs that we bid on and getting tax credit without permits for the same jobs that I can't do due to restrictions based on the age of a home. Pre-1978 is a lead warning fiasco designed to make the homeowner pay out the ass for a job due to the age of the home not the job in general.

We are being fucked over, permits and penalties that only the small guy trying to get ahead has to jump through. Corporate bullshit has trickled down to affect the homeowner who is tired of living in an old house and wants to upscale.

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh.

They are killing startups, they are killing the guys who have 30 years of experience who know the trade. They are killing growth.

Re: Why is Obama in Trouble ? I'll tell you my experience today.

BINGO! I am in SE PA (Phila), and construction is in the toilet and has been for awhile. Layoffs are becoming more and more common, and its feast and famine work. Luck to land a gig every couple months.

Heres my opinion...I believe the big push against "unions" really isnt the trade unions, but the Public Sector unions as mentioned above. These snakes skim tax payer dollars from the pay and pensions of these supposed "public servants", and then launder it right back to the Democrats. They utilize government facilities to campaign and even produce campaign literature for Democrat candidates. I saw this for myself when I was doing a gig in Trenton in a State building back in 2008.

And what exactly has expanded in this economy? Why the government employees...or at least those who will tow the line.
