Re: Are women allowed to preach and teach in the church? Or are we to be silent?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

After Christ departed, He told them to wait in the upper room to be indued with power.
Act 1:13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
Act 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. , and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1Co 14:36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

First Woman Preacher!
Luk 2:36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
Luk 2:37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
Luk 2:38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

1Co 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1Co 12:2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Co 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

1Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
the word "everyman" in Greek is Hekastos which means "everyone, man, woman, one". Remember there is no race, or gender in the Spirit

Remember when reading the Bible not to take anything out of context. CONTEXT RULES

The Bible is a book of letters, some are letters Paul has written to churches, fellow ministers, etc. There are also historical accounts, prophecies some major and some minor. So you have to look at what you are reading. Is it a letter someone has written, like Paul to Timothy or to a church? Paul has a habit of stating a problem he is addressing or maybe a question that was addressed to him by stating it first. Like in 1Co 14:34 He states the problem he is addressing.....Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Then he answers1Co 14:36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

You also have to take into account of the setting, the time, the place, who is speaking and why, what about, and to whom they are speaking. DON"T TAKE THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT remember CONTEXT RULES>

This is why there are so many doctrines, and misunderstandings. People read one sentence and then build a doctrine on it taking completely out of context.

Some one ask name a preacher... Aquilla and Prisilla were husband and wife and she was a minister. One of the Apostles was believed to be a woman. Because of the time and the fact of it being the middle east women were not given any account literally. When they counted they only counted the men and then stated and women and children too. They had to learn a whole new way. Men and women were separated. As still do in the middle east. The woman were told not to interupt a service to ask their husband questions, they were told to quiety wait until they arrived home and then ask them. So not to upset the meeting. They had to learn a whole new way of living. But Jesus was trying to teach them that they were all the same in Christ. Gifts, calling, offices, etc were given to every man or woman to profit all.
You receive the Spirit of God and all He is as with all His power and gifting to release what ever gifts you have need of or that He chooses to activate or manifest in all to profit all.

Be careful also sometimes the word "wife" or "woman" isn't translated properly. In 1Ti 2:9 they are speaking especially to wives.

Hope this helps.

It takes women (women from todays) to complicate teachings from the bible.

Anyway you will do watever that accomodate you isnt it?

Women in general dont like Paul teachings and I dont care anymore.

So you choose not to obey paul who was chosen by jesus? Good luck with that.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 498396

Paul was NOT "chosen" by Jesus, Jesus blinded him with fireworks and the shock of it left him open to teaching, but he was not sent by Jesus to teach. He causes much harm in fact
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25266395

No offense....

Is this a denial by a 'Bible Alone' believer that Scripture
is errant?

By the God given authority of the Church, Paul's writings were included as part of the Canon of Scripture. There were many writings that were not included, Paul's and the rest of the Canon are from God.

Some people do not follow prophecy, even a few priests.
The Great Warning, the "awakening" of Revelation 6:15-17
is going to be a knocked off our horse moment, receiving divine teachings from God Himself just like Paul for the entire world...this time.

here's the thing, and i say this with all respect because i think you are older than me, but, you realize that EVERYONE is a sinner, all fall short, almost everyone has some type of oppression or fear or sin in their life. this doesn't mean everyone is demonized and we retreat to the hills.

finding a good church is difficult, i understand. i have left a couple myself. i have left the charismatic church, the pentacostal church, and the catholic church. there were some very Godly people there, too.

Hi, I'm back...

Read the last verse in Revelation Chapter 11, John lets
you know who the "woman" is in Chapter 12 besides, Chapter
12 makes it absolutely clear.

Read the last verse in Chapter ll of Revelation. The
Ark of the New Covenant in Heaven is Mary.

Some verses in Scripture have double meanings. This is
is true of Revelation 12:1. Above all other meanings,
the "woman" in Revelation 12:1 is Mary. Read further in
Chapter 12, ONLY Mary brings forth the man child. The
lessor meanings are the Church or Israel.

Now connect this...no where in Scripture does a son ever
call his mother Woman. Why does Jesus keep refering to
His mother as "woman" in the Gospel? Because He is God
and He knows the full plan. Mary is the "woman" in
Genesis 3:15 and the royal sounding "woman" in Revelation
12:1.

The KJV completely changed the verse, Genesis 3:15.
Here is what the first Bible said, the Latin Vulgate.

The English translation of the Vulgate is the Douay-Rheims.
Read the footnote. Everything is by God, it is the Blessed
Trinity's plan that Mary crush the head of the serpent.

[link to www.drbo.org]

I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

[15] She shall crush: Ipsa, the woman; so divers of the fathers read this place, conformably to the Latin: others read it ipsum, viz., the seed. The sense is the same: for it is by her seed, Jesus Christ, that the woman crushes the serpent's head.

Re: Are women allowed to preach and teach in the church? Or are we to be silent?
The gift of discerning of spirits are given to those who have a true heart for truth. Because you're going to see many things! Many things that the world says is true is not. Jesus functioned in this gift almost constantly. It was how He could tell if people were possessed, tempting him, he could tell much from this gift.

With the gift you can hear demons talk, you can see them in the spirit, or God can just tell you information. Like that pastor has 2 demons and their names are doubt and fear. God will just tell you that information. You will just instantly know it.

My husband and I were in a false church. It was just a regular church, a Mennonite Church, just like any church you see around you today. It didn't believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It's a very long story. I was delivered first, then my husband, then we were shown our church was false. I've spent 30 years trying to find the real church.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20586262

Do you know why you have not found what you are looking for in those 30 years? It's because you are looking for something where it cannot be found.

Look inwardly, not outwardly. The answers to all of your questions already reside within you. Nothing external to you will ever provide you with the answers that you are looking for. Follow your heart.
 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

I'm am following it and I will continue to follow it and I will find out my answer someday because the bible says seek and thee shall find. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. You know that's a promise. That these demons I saw in these false church people can't prevail against the church.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20586262

Where is the true church? Don't look for a particular denomination. The true Church is the bride of Christ, born again believers, washed in the blood of the lamb. You will find them in all denominations. Nobody is perfect, we all carry baggage, however coming to Christ He will clean up our life and change us. If you have been born again you have been given the Holy Spirit and you belong to the true church of Jesus Christ.

Different denominations puts emphasis on different things in the Bible, some on song and worship, speaking in tongues etc, other on creeds and doctrines, others in the way you are baptized or the way you dress. Most teachings have its root from the Bible other denominations have teachings from men and demons. Some lead people to a closer walk with Christ, others to win souls, others to gain members. A Church without Christ (the true Christ, God in flesh) is a cult, a church that promotes sinful lifestyles is not obedient. Like in the early church so also today, the world has sneaked into the church. Stay away from churches that put another book of their own above the Bible. And only wants to gain members.

You mention Mennonites. They have many groups of Mennonites, black head-covering, white head-covering and no head covering liberals. These groups also differ. Many Mennonite groups do mission work and lead people to Christ and they have their conviction based on the word of God, their interpretation of the word etc. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Those fruits are present in the Mennonite churches.

You may go to Assembly of God or Pentecostal Churches where they want speaking in tongues, loud music etc. and they have a passion for the lost. But you will find wrongs there too. Stop looking for a perfect Church, the true Church is sinners saved by grace and cleansed by His blood. Submit yourself to the Holy Spirit and see where God wants you. Seeking a "true Church" after you have been given the truth in the Bible opens you up for deception for not believing the truth in the word. That is how Islam and Mormonism got started, they got revelations from "angels" instead of believing the word.

According to the Bible not all churches allow Jesus Christ to be Lord, they go about their own business and agenda. Don't look for a particular denomination, none is perfect as long as they have humans in it. The early church had many problems, read the Bible and see for yourself. Find one that you are comfortable in, that teaches the deity of Christ, that lifts Him up, that adheres to the teachings of the Bible on important issues, that have mission outreach and care for the lost. Or ask God to lead you to a church where you can serve Him, don't look at the faults, if your eyes are opened to issues then speak the truth in love if you are questioned, otherwise pray for them and the issues God shows you. Allow the Holy Spirit to work. You and I have faults too that we do not see, however other see. Give it time, pray and be open to the Holy Spirit to lead you.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior you are part of His Church, so are the others, however we all have different walks to walk and different growth to grow. Be patient.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.

THIS.

To even ask the question, "what are women allowed to do", is to immediately brand them as subhuman. Are women human? Adults? Free? Then this question is moot.

As I tried to explain to one person, even if a man thinks he has God-given privileges over half the human race (!!), Jesus made it crystal clear that such privileges are to be set aside and the person having them is to be a humble servant rather than "lording over".

All these people (both men and women are found on both sides of the issue) spitting venom at us who teach freedom and equality and unity in Christ are showing by their words and deeds that they either don't know Him or live in rebellion against Him, all while hurling those accusations against us.

Women simply do not need permission to do what God has called them to do.

Keep2, hi,

Gee, you won't even comment about the above? Did you read
it. Seee...everyone stuck, myself included on what we've
been taught.

This is why in God's perfect love and mercy He is going to bring about the divine event of the Great Warning (Protestants hear it called the awakening). Revelation
6:15-17, oh yeah, we will all wish the rocks to fall on us
when we see our lives in an NDE like life review.

Again, everything Jesus said and did was perfect. He called His mother "woman" repeatedly in the Gospel for a reason. Who cares our background, speak to Mary in prayer, it pleases Our Lord very much.

Above the other meanings for the "woman" in Revelation
Chapter 12, the "woman" that brought forth the man child
is Mary. The mother of the King in the Old Testament
is Queen not his wife. The "woman" in Revelation 12:1
sounds pretty royal, yes?

it would seem to me more important to spend time on the real problems of this world as they face us now, the pollution, the overuse of ground water, the heating from both the photon belt AND the radiation from atom and nuclear bombs, the destruction of mans HOME. Religion has taught God is going to destroy the world, so who cares. Sad but true. It is man destroying his world, not God. The new earth of the bible is a renewed earth, its not god destroying the planet.

If you're a woman, and have to ask this question, why in the hell would you even want to be near a church?

You need to find some better company. I'm sure there are other christian places of worship that aren't stuck in the bronze age.

Salt is spinning a lot of Jesuit sophistry. Taking plain word and claiming it says something entirely different. This is just rejecting what is written. This is the reason there are so many divisions of the church. Divide & conquer by definition.

when you all at long last remember that there were no females originally

as all were made in His image in the first earth Age

those who made such a big deal out of the division will feel like fools

Re: Are women allowed to preach and teach in the church? Or are we to be silent?
those known as the Elect in present tense

the Predestined, forechosen Ones

many of whom are in female form presently

will be teaching during the Millennium Age forthcoming

reigning and teaching with Christ for the full 1000 years of said Age

from the right side of the gulf

teaching all those who fail to overcome and put on immortality at the end of this Age, who will be living on land lots on the wrong side of said gulf for the duration of the Millennium

the wrong side of the gulf is the one depicted in that old parable defining the "rich man and Lazarus"

Lazarus having overcome, now dwelling on the right side of said gulf with Christ, in the bosom of Abraham, and all those who had overcome during their time in flesh

the rich man weeping on the wrong side of the gulf for obvious reasons

he had enjoyed the money to buy whatever he wished while yet in flesh

having failed to overcome, however, he then found himself in much the depressed state of mind, without the absolute and utter freedom they on the opposite side of said gulf were enjoying, well within his sight and line of vision yet impossible for him to partake of

he was able to witness all that which he had failed to procure while in flesh, and now altho in his spiritual body, he was still considered "mortal" in that he was "liable to die the second death" accordingly. he hadn't put on "immortality" since he hadn't "overcome"

and he knew it

he just learned it a moment too late, sadly

your choice - time is short

Re: Are women allowed to preach and teach in the church? Or are we to be silent?
you bet they are!
don't let anyone tell you that women are to be silent.
God used many powerful women to teach, preach, judge, prophesy, etc.

God called and used women preachers in the Old Testament.

a. DEBORAH - Judges 4:4-5. Deborah was a Judge for both civil and criminal cases. The children of Israel came to her for judgment. She was the chief ruler of Israel for 40 years, giving orders to the Generals and all the army. She did the work of an evangelist, prophetess, Judge, and a preacher. God gave her authority over the mighty (Judges 5:13).

b. MIRIAM - Exodus 15:20; Numbers 12:1; Micah 6:4. She was a Prophetess and a Song Leader in Israel.

c. HULDAH - 2 Kings 22:14. Five men went to Sister Huldah and communed with her. She spoke to a congregation of men concerning the book of the Law. A female preached to a man's congregation, and her message was taken to the nation and produced a revival.

d. MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZ'S MOTHER - Isaiah 8:3. She was a prophetess.

8. God called and used women preachers in the New Testament.

a. The first message of the Resurrection of Christ was spoken by women to a group of men.

b. Anna - Luke 2:36-38. She must have prophesied in church, because she did not depart from the temple.

c. Phillip had 4 daughters who prophesied. Acts 21:9.

d. Priscilla assisted Paul in his revival meeting and even taught Apollos in the way of the Lord more perfectly.

e. Phebe - Romans 16:1-2. Paul commended Phoebe to the Church at Rome and requested that they assist her in her business. She was one of Paul's assistants in the work of the Lord and delivered the Book of Romans to the people from the hand of Paul.

9. There is no sound reason why a woman or man should not preach the Gospel. There is a desperate need in the church for more workers. Laborers are few, and God will use any and all who will go for Him. Some say God will not use a woman to preach, because "The woman was deceived," but remember Romans 5:12: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world." It seems to indicate that Adam was just as guilty as Eve in the fall of man. If anyone should be kept from preaching because of sin, it would be Adam. But God does not forbid anyone from preaching, because of Adam's or Eve's sin.

10. 1 Cor. 14: 34-35 does not say anything about women preachers. If Paul intended this verse as a general rule to bar all women from speaking in church, then they cannot teach Sunday School, testify, pray, prophesy, sing, or even get saved, and this would contradict the rest of the Bible (Acts 2:4; Acts 2:16-18).

Paul was rather dealing with a particular problem in the church. Women were not educated as were the men in that day; therefore the women would talk back and forth to their husbands in church and ask questions concerning the sermon. Paul said, "If they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." If they want to talk things over let them wait until they get home. This rule is still good for the church today, where people are talking and causing confusion in the church service. They should not speak in church. (Not in the back of the church either before or after services.)

If a woman cannot speak in church, then she cannot speak in prayer meeting, young people's service, etc., for who can deny that Sunday School and Prayer meeting, and Youth work are parts of church? Christ's Church is not a building, but rather it is found where two or three are gathered together in His name, whether at a street meeting, in a tent, a home, church, classroom or anywhere else.

11. 1 Timothy 2:12 is not a blanket rule for all women of all churches. If it were, then the women could not speak at all, for the same verse that tells them not to teach also tells them to be silent.

If all women had to keep silent in church, then that would be promoting disobedience to God, for they could not prophesy, pray, testify, sing, exhort, do personal work, or even get saved.

Whenever an interpretation to a verse contradicts the rest of the teaching of the Bible, we know this interpretation is incorrect, for the Holy Spirit will never contradict His own Word.

Re: Are women allowed to preach and teach in the church? Or are we to be silent?
Allow me to share a verse with you all so that you will understand the spiritual consequences for disobedience to the Lord's command for women.

Hebrews 10:26
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

Allow me to show you exactly what sin is so that you will understand what is means to commit it.

1 John 3:4
"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness."

So if you disobey this command from God you are lawless in this regard and are in danger for ALL reap what they sow.

James 4:17
"If a man knows the good which He should do and does not, to him it is sin."

So all of you who have heard this command and know it to be of God and disobey it will be accounted to you as sin.

Allow me to remind you that God's commands are law to His people. They are not requests and God shows no partiality to any man in His judgments or His dealings.

Since God understands every imagination (1 Chornicles 28:9) I say to you that He will not be lenient towards you because of translation issues because this command is to be discerned spiritually. Not to say that it is to be discerned as to where, how, and why it came about, but strictly whether or not it was from God.

Those of you here who claim to have that gift and deny and disobey the Lord's commands through Paul are liars. My sisters, and their husbands, who are obedient in this command are beautiful and make themselves pleasing to God.

For we know from 1 John chapter 1 that the only way to know God is to be obedient in His commands and those who are disobedient are liars and the truth is not in them. And so, in this age, we see our sisters in rebellion which is like that of the sin of sorcery.

Should our attitudes towards ALL of God's commmands not be like that of Johanan, Jezaniah, and their people? Jeremiah 42:1-7.

We, the people of God, are to test everything. So test for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit, if you have Him, to show you what you should think on this matter. If His asnswer is contradictory to HIS word than you shall know that what you are hearing is that of your own imagination or the deceiver. The command for womoen is reiterated time and time again in the law of moses and though we are no longer UNDER that law's curse we are still to study and be aware of God's desire for us through it.

Finally and the most important argument of them all is that which our King spoke while He was on earth. "But he who is the greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted".

So ask yourself three things.
Is it wise to contend on this matter?
and
Is not the one of the truest marks of a servant of God obedience to God and a humble spirit?
and
Is it wise to associate with those who are in rebellion against God?

I have a full(To the best of my abailty) reproof of this command and an exhortation to my sisters in Christ. If anyone desires to read it then I will send it over through email if you ask. However, you MUST test EVERYTHING I say so as you were exhorted to do.

May the Lord keep you all from temptation.

This post makes me terrible sad. Perhaps you won't want to "associate" with me who you think is in "rebellion against God"? If that turns out to be the case, I wish you all the best.
