And of course, when John says "test the spirits", it means exactly that: test. We test them by comparing them to the Word of God, and to how they view Jesus.

I was going to ask how you discovered/found your giftedness. I suppose it works differently for me in that I have always found giftedness discerned in community, not privately.

James 5:14-15

"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."

While Protestants usually have some type of rebuttal for most Scriptures that support Catholic teaching, they generally have little to say about James 5:14-15. Most Protestants tuck this verse away, never to deal with it again. This is because there is no place to put it in their Protestant theology. It doesn't fit anywhere.

The passage sets forth the Catholic sacrament of the anointing of the sick (which used to be called "Extreme Unction.") This sacrament, which is one of seven sacraments Jesus instituted for His Church, is given to people who are in danger of death, suffering with grave illness, or facing serious medical procedures.

The verse demonstrates several things the Church has taught for 2,000 years. First, in order to confect the sacrament, one must call for the elders or priests of the Church. This requires men specially ordained to do the job, and gets into what we mean by Church (don't forget about Peter, the keys, dynastic succession, priestly ordination, the power to bind and loose, and the pinnacle and bulwark of the truth). Secondly, James says the priests' prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up. This demonstrates that the Church's priests act in the person of Christ ("in persona Christi") in furthering Christ's work of salvation. Yes, Jesus is our only Savior, but He desires us to participate in His eternal priesthood, and He calls certain men to participate in a very intimate way by effecting salvation (through the ministerial priesthood described here). So the priests, through the power of Christ, save the sick man's soul.

Finally, by virtue of the actions and prayers of the priests, the sick man's sins are forgiven (this is what actually saves the man's soul). Protestants have great difficulty with this verse particularly because it demonstrates that priests have the power and authority to forgive sins (which was given to men by Christ; see also Matthew 9:8, John 20:23). Unlike what the Bible provides, no where in its theology or practice does Protestantism provide for priestly forgiveness of sins or the sacrament of the sick.

The gift of discerning of spirits are given to those who have a true heart for truth. Because you're going to see many things! Many things that the world says is true is not. Jesus functioned in this gift almost constantly. It was how He could tell if people were possessed, tempting him, he could tell much from this gift.

With the gift you can hear demons talk, you can see them in the spirit, or God can just tell you information. Like that pastor has 2 demons and their names are doubt and fear. God will just tell you that information. You will just instantly know it.

My husband and I were in a false church. It was just a regular church, a Mennonite Church, just like any church you see around you today. It didn't believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It's a very long story. I was delivered first, then my husband, then we were shown our church was false. I've spent 30 years trying to find the real church.

I've never seen a demon be given a form, they are spirit. Spirits have no form, just like God is Spirit and He has no form. When I say I see them, I can see into the spirit world. They have no phyical form.

ok, so let me get this straight. the ENTIRE church was demon possessed, including the pastor, who you had help you deliver 2 demons from your husband.

Yes, the whole church of about 300 people were demon possessed. It was a horrible thing to see.

As far as a pastor being able to help you and not be a real christian. The bible says "they will say to Him (Jesus) did not we cast out demons in your Name" and He will say to them "away from me I never knew you". So there will be people who will cast out demons but not really know Jesus, that pastor was one of those kind of people.

I cast 8 demons out of my husband, he had 9 of them. I went to another pastor with the last demon and I didn't handle that one.

The pastor had 2 demons himself.

And how are the two of you doing now? How did you find another church?

I knew that day that I discerned my church that those people sitting around me in the pews that day were not my real brothers and sisters in Christ. I knew that instantly and that was one of the saddest things about the experience. The realization that this was not the church was crushing to me. I've looked for the real church ever since and truly I have not been able to find it. I've gone from church to church.

As far as my husband, I'm still with him. We've been married 38 years now. He has struggles, he's had a very hard time, so have I. We've been alone for years. His whole family attended the church I discerned and didn't want anything to do with me. So we moved away from our families years ago. I haven't seen either of our families in about 17 years really. We just don't talk. They still go to the demon filled churches, I don't.

I don't go to church, I haven't gone to a church for years and years now, about 30 years now. I won't get caught dead going to those demon filled churches. I fellowship online and wherever I can find a true brother or sister somewhere.

Re. Bible codes, I'm really not into that. I don't reject it outright but haven't been convinced that if there is any, that it means anything more than proving God's authorship.
