We are getting ripped-off for our food....sneaky price increase

A new wave of downsizing has been hitting supermarket shelves over the past several months with everything from cookies to detergent packages shrinking in size.

Ditch the Raisin Bran and buy a box of Count Chocula :)

Vitamin fortified adds weight also.

Tomatoes $9 a kilo here in Sydney ... that's about 4.20 USD per pound

Ya now its really happening in Canada.

It's not only downsizing while prices get jacked up but I guarentee you that cereal flake is now not just one good vegetable, chances are high they cut the good corn flake qith fucked up extenders like Soy.

The food manufacturers decided years back to promote Soy as being healthy for you.
I'm 50, When I was a little kid we lived on and around cow ranchers and I clearly remember them taking to my dad one day that lots of farmers were switching over to growing Soy for human consumption BUT... Many of them refused to feed it to their cows. They knew it was only a crap weed with not as much nutrition as Corn, it will grow in harsh conditions just like most weeds with little water.

Now it is in most food to cut the cost of manufacture after being promoted and sold to the public as being, "good for them".....Pretty much like Fluoridated water was promoted.

So really that 200g box of raisin cereal is maybe 25grams of the original recipe that you ate as a kid.

It's to prevent sticker shock. They lower the amount by a little and keep the price the same, then they increase the price a little. Alternating in between these two makes it less noticeable.

This was the "obama economy" tax that mitt was talking about during the debate. The rise in gas prices and the poor economy in general, affects the "middle and lower" income families most as they have less disposable income.

If gas prices are high, the goods and services are more expensive to deliver... hence the cost increase.. ECN101, which apparently our president didnt attend much.


This will continue as long has he in in office.

Wait till 2013 and your employer no longer pays any of your health care... (especially when the cost is about to increase). Will you thank your nice guy president then?

I honestly believe this will be the least of your conserns in 2013.

If romney wins, riots will happen the day after the election, with our inner cities rioting for fear that the money train ended. Our media has a hand in it too, as they have been portraying team o as a winner for some time now. you will hear many cries of election fraud. This can be ended by local authorities, however if the UN comes to investigate election fraud, then there will be civil war.


If somehow team O wins... the riots will take place in 2013 when most people loose full time jobs and companies only have people part time to skirt the penalties and insurance covereage. Everyone will need 2 jobs (especially those with no skill... (fast food/service jobs). Many retail mall type stores will instantly fold. This will lead to civil war and eventually foreign invasion.

Trust me, no one wants to invade the US. We don't actually have any valuable resources. We import everything.

vast amounts of land minerals and water....especially if you don't give two f's to the lands current population.


You can only invade with the UN here though, they need to take the fire arms from a large portion of the population.
