Mostly what peoples said, but i'll add to that wheat and grain products. These aren't natural in our diets, and these were added only recently to human diets.

there are fat people here for sure. but you don't see so many OBESE people...all around....as you do in the states.
we eat a lot of the same things, have a very similar culture. why are there not as many obese people in canada?

one thing may be that we don't drink as much soda pop (called soda in the states, pop in canada :) that is only HFCS, colour and a bit of water thrown in.

maybe the cold winters have something to do with it?

it is really interesting to contemplate.

People in Europe eat almost has much yet they are not that fat...

Because everything (mostly bread) has way less sugar in it.

And they walk. Americans don't walk. When Americans DO walk (Manhattan), they're not fat.

The sugar industry needs a bullet in it's head.

Same goes for the supersize industry and medicare giving scooters to fat people who can't walk.

Plus a little thing you forgot to mention: glutamate!

Glutamate is given to laboratory mice when you wish to make them obese (so you can test drugs "curing obesity" on them). It's not a long stretch to assume what makes mice obese also works on humans...

The kicker is, glutamate is added to virtually ALL industrially prepared food you find in the grocery store! The only way to avoid it, is to cook yourself, from basic natural ingredients only. Beware things like broth cubes, which will contain glutamate (it's cheap and tastes vaguely meaty).

With a healthy natural diet, you may get a little chubby if you love good food a little too much, but the only way to go morbidly obese, is to eat like a modern American.

Pizza, Big Macs, Bud not so Light, and low taxes. They make $50k or more a year and just bitch bitch and bitch more about paying taxes yet they have all the money they need for dining out and buying fancy cars while out dedt fattens also to 17 trillion because of over spending and to low taxes.

The USDA gives out decent food to the food pantry's. eg, rice,beans,powdered milk,eggs.

Mickey Mouse should start a food pantry at disney. :-)
