Face Palmer User ID: 1149868 Germany 10/12/2012 09:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2920692 United States 10/12/2012 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | what you can do is give thanks for what you have. the very act of giving thanks is transformational to energy/food. this is the most important step. Quoting: pink cat Agreed. Many, if not most, of the old 'ways' have their roots buried beyond conscious memory in actual knowledge... In this case, knowledge of our connection to and use of energy, as well as how our bodies function. On the purely physical, 3D plane, taking a moment to appreciate the food you are about to eat has very real benefits too. During that time your body responds to the stimulus (hunger, smell, appearance, etc.) and has time to prepare. Saliva, with its enzymes, begins to flow; the stomach produces more acids... this activity allows the body to fully break down what is consumed and enables it to extract every last bit of nutrition available in it. Chewing slower and for longer than we normally do (I forget the recommended number of chews :) is another old "instruction". Doing that give the salivary enzymes time to do their work to its utmost. Even most 'crap' food does contain quite a bit the body can use. If the diet is marginal, our bodies will make the most of what it does get... and filling it with light through thankfulness can indeed be transformational, imho. Thank you for the nice reminder of something too easily forgotten! |

Not only because I'm thankful but that I want my food to be blessed because I don't know who might have handled it before I ate it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24623244 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |
ajk User ID: 1114631 United States 10/12/2012 06:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've thought about this before, have heard that positive energy can help you heal and be healthy regardless of what you may be consuming. I may try and do this when I eat from now on, giving a short thanks for being able to eat what I am about to when others can't even do that. I think maybe I get so worked up about eating right, (not that I shouldn't try) that I forget to be grateful that I can eat at all even if it isn't the best a lot of the time here. Eating slower is a good idea too, though didn't think about the nutritional benefits part as much there. Same for the 3D thing.....little things can make a big difference can't they? Good posts. Anonymous Coward User ID: 22241004 United States 10/12/2012 09:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is true. We should thank God for the days we eat and also for the days we don't. But back to topic, I eat 'junk' all the time. Pretty much everything is GMO. I also work labor and ride a bicycle as my main form of transportation. I smoke cigarettes and used to heavily use illicit drugs. I lift weights also and have done so for about 7 years now. People can eat all the non-GMO fruits and veggies they want but the human body is designed for physical activity. It's proven that people who excercise have better circulation. Eating healthy and refraining from physical activity that elevates the pulse rate to 120+ bpm will only accomplish so much. Eating junk high in caloric energy and burning through that energy using the bodies ligament, bone, and muscles to contract and expand against some form of resistance will also accomplish so much. To each his own. I think I'm addicted to the endorphins now. Addictive personality. |
