LOL Well, my neighbor doesn't have a jeep. So I just thought it was odd that something similar happened to the both of us in the same week and wondered if it was more widespread than just the two of us.

If you notice that all batteries don't last like they use too. Must be made in China. J/K, but if you go buy any type of battery you will notice they don't last as long as they use too. My husband and I have talked about this for a long time..

If you shop for quality instead of price they do...

This thread is no doubt an experiment, so let me add to the data. One of my computer batteries died yesterday (Monday), and I noticed when I was out and about that people were working on their cars in parking lots (at the mall and at an exhibition park that was hosting a regional fall fair). The children were just standing around waiting for the Dads to fix the problem, so it wasn't like they had planned to do some car repairing in the parking lot.


I've never noticed that before, so many people with dud vehicles. I assume the battery was the problem.

People don't have the money or intelligence to maintain their vehicles anymore...when you don't do maintenance, they break down more often...

Very true, but my spouse was raised old school and knows how to work on vehicles and we are fortunate enough to afford the maintenance.

We too had all 3 batteries die on us. So did 2 of my neighbors and 3 other family members. I do think something is up with this as none of the batteries were that old and they all started acting up around Oct. i don't believe it is coincidence.

I'm in Communist CA too, and yeah 2 of my cars' batteries died within the past 3 days. One's an 06 Mitsu, other is a 02 Ford. Would have made no conspiracy over it without GLP.

Just throwing it out there.. getting your battery jumped does not recharge your battery.. you actually have to put it on a charger to get 100% back from your battery. A jump gets you maybe 5% battery power.. so if you keep having to jump your car, it may be because you've never charged it completely since the first time it died..

No not at all. Just took a drive. Everything is just fine.

Same issues with my car battery but it is freezing COLD. Montana. O Reilly's said we have like some weird epidemic here this past week more than usual for this level of cold.You could pump it and start it then even that didn't work. I left my lights on at a dinner started the whole event. Now they say it won't hold a charge after last week saying it was holding a charge fine.Did I spell Christmas for mechanics and OReilly's???

Even though mine was fine I replaced it. 5.5 years is pushing it for a battery. besides if the shtf you may not be able to find one.

Sounds like the alternator is going and they replaced the battery cause they thought it was the problem.

97 mercury mountaineer, battery died 2 days ago too.
