Cabins starting at $1,600/month? I'm in! Glad to see their still chugging along with Libertarian Islands as well.

I don't think I could abandon the land that I love but a timeshare on an Oceanic Libertarian Resort sounds fantastic.

What will Blueseed offer?

We plan to launch in Q4 2013/Q1 2014, offering living and office space in an elegantly designed modern tech environment so compelling that it will be called the “Googleplex of the Sea”, attracting top entrepreneurial and technology talent from all over the world to Silicon Valley, where they can create companies and jobs, and develop disruptive and innovative technologies.

And imagine what happens when a foreign diplomat's son or daughter - say from Russia, China, Korea has a mishap or goes missing - who will protect the inhabitants from a raid? What about hurricanes or typhoons??

As far as I'm concerned - let them go as long as the owners cannot come or go to the U.S at will. As long as they don't come for a handout or expecting U.S. protection when times get tough.

I imagine that would be a haven for enslaved sex trade and child molestors. It would put Babylon to shame and we all know how that story ended.

Yep, the floating city is part of the whole Agenda-21 Plannedopolis thing. Also karma pinning this.
 Quoting: Cave Johnson

This has nothing to do with agenda 21. Agenda 21 is about turning people into serfs controlled by a tiny elite.

This is about an end run around the bureaucracies, taxes, regulations and control of everyone and everything by nation-states.

It is about marginalizing governments for the useless eaters they are.

It is possible for them to protect themselves. Just like merchant ships protect themselves from Somali pirates.

Once they finally figured out governments can't protect them.

It could be a haven for the sex trade but I doubt it, no more so than the U.S. and other countries are now.

I seriously doubt if a free market would need any handouts, more likely the other way around.

theres big plans to turn the planet into nature again and have a limited amount of walled cities on the planet.

have you not heard of this?

theres maps plans.. google it

Roderick Fuckin Nash started this insane bullshit.

Last century I was reading a book off the book shelf in a house I was renting, Wilderness and the American Mind. It looked sorta brainy by an expert so I thought I could pick up some knowledge. It was kind of dreary read: nature this, Yosemite that, Walden Pond over there kind of stuff. Really all over the place without a real central theme.

I get through about 2/3rds through the book when he writes here's the solution (I was like "what?...a solution to what?"). He wrote that we need a megacube at NYC, one at Houston and one at L.A. and everybody needs to move in there for the sake of nature. Also, if you're really good and you really love nature they'll let you out for a few days every other year or so. I thought it was nuts and put the book back on the bookshelf, but that's UN Agenda 21 to a tee!

I don't see how this will benefit US citizens because they will have to pay taxes on their earnings, unless they live there for 12 months straight and qualify for the foreign earned income thing.

IMHO it will turn into a high-tech sweat shop where you have a staff of cheap immigrant geeks to do your bidding ... If so, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to set something like that up in a banana republic ?

(op) At home. 1st pin. doesn't matter. Thanks though Cave. the real issue is that any corporation can go off shore and create an incorporated business free of all ties to any country. They become free states/countries. Therefore all international laws of business become void. Free of any resrictions. Build...make..think what you want. No tax..no restrictions..no laws governing what you may be able to produce,.......It's coming....not a " be aware" moment...but a..................??????? I Dunno moment

I doubt it will turn into a sweat shop. If the regulatory burdens and taxes of every country not to mention the bribes weren't present, there would be no reason to pay sweatshop wages.

Umm it isn't as if they aren't aware of this. They are pioneers just like Sealand.

There are three places in Honduras where the Honduran government has agreed hands off.

The idea is with technology, the nation states that everyone loves so much are dinosaurs.

Of course governments hate it, they hate anything that will take any part of their power away.

It may take a hundred years but governments in their present form are obsolete. They just don't know it yet.

As soon as our economy improves,
we will devote resources to incent their Gov't to collect duties.

And if they refuse, well, remember Nicaragua?

I have no doubt that as soon as they are successful the Honduran government will want a piece of them. Probably their greed will destroy the whole thing.

The point, at least to me, is that someday something like this will work.
