I've been in the jewelry business and I have never seen anything recently produced like what Obama is wearing. This has to be a rather old piece. I think the origin of this ring is going to tell far more then what the script says.

It iis actually an art form similar to chinese script. This script is seen time and time again in traditional islamic jewelry. I think the origin of this ring is going to be really interesting...

Yes, I've studied Islamic art. The thing is the swirls don't form a pattern where everything is the same. The ring does. It's not a script. There is just a repetition of the same swirl. That's all.
