Re: CEO Threatens to Fire Employees If Obama Is Reelected and Raises Taxes
It won't stop the brainwashed masses from voting O or D across the board. Bereft of critical thinking skills this group has no concept of how free markets work and actually believe government can create prosperity.

The irony is that whenever you try to 'redistribute' wealth, your economy tanks and all that wealth disappears impoverishing everyone except the ultra elite who run things. That's why, for example, whenever they've tried to raise capital gains taxes, tax revenue goes down.

However Obama said it's necessary to do this so that everyone pays their 'fair share'. So he doesn't actually care about the economy and he does this even though our 1 percenters pay a larger precentage of our tax burden than any other industrialized country.

And this, you see, the grand plan... either way leads to the same place, just pick your poison. We can have Neo-feudalism with a socialist/communist Marxist flair like the guy in there now will do. The serfs will have a thousand tons of rocks on the backs of each man, to which the lords do not worry themselves of.

Or we could have Neo-feudalism with a fascist flair like the other guy would lead us to. But, maybe at least still some small business and enterprise. But, I'm not holding my breath.

There is no capitalism in this country anymore, there is nothing of what made the country great, it has been bastardized beyond a paternity test....

I'll vote for the other guy, but, we're not allowed to vote for him...

:-(

I wonder how many turns on the see saw we need to see until you guys get there?? I just don't get it, it's reality TV and people want the next season...

...You see, I can no longer support a system that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, so will your opportunities. If that happens, you can find me in the Caribbean sitting on the beach, under a palm tree, retired, and with no employees to worry about, but just the increasingly violent unemployed Carribbean proles. Scrap that thought. Come to think of it there are fewer and fewer places for boys like me to sit under any sort of tree without being harrassed by the Fucking global unemployed, even Monaco seems to have them around, and it's all the current Administrations fault.

To All My Valued Employees,

As most of you know our company, Westgate Resorts, has continued to succeed in spite of a very dismal economy. There is no question that the economy has changed for the worse and we have not seen any improvement over the past four years. In spite of all of the challenges we have faced, the good news is this: The economy doesn't currently pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is another 4 years of the same Presidential administration. Of course, as your employer, I can't tell you whom to vote for, and I certainly wouldn't interfere with your right to vote for whomever you choose. In fact, I encourage you to vote for whomever you think will serve your interests the best. [...]

Now, the economy is falling apart and people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for. Yes, business ownership has its benefits, but the price I've paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the costs of running a business have gotten out of control, and let me tell you why: We are being taxed to death and the government thinks we don't pay enough. We pay state taxes, federal taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, payroll taxes, workers compensation taxes and unemployment taxes. I even have to hire an entire department to manage all these taxes. The question I have is this: Who is really stimulating the economy? Is it the Government that wants to take money from those who have earned it and give it to those who have not, or is it people like me who built a company out of his garage and directly employs over 7000 people and hosts over 3 million people per year with a great vacation?

Obviously, our present government believes that taking my money is the right economic stimulus for this country. The fact is, if I deducted 50% of your paycheck you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, that's what happens to me. [...]

Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate business, not kill it. However, the power brokers in Washington believe redistributing wealth is the essential driver of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change they want.

[[ Editors' Note: Black actress Stacey Dash defends Romney after facing racist attacks: ‘I chose him not by the color of his skin but the content of his character’ ]]

So where am I going with all this? It's quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company. Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone.

So, when you make your decision to vote, ask yourself, which candidate understands the economics of business ownership and who doesn't? Whose policies will endanger your job? Answer those questions and you should know who might be the one capable of protecting and saving your job. While the media wants to tell you to believe the "1 percenters" are bad, I'm telling you they are not. They create most of the jobs. If you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the "1%"; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country.

You see, I can no longer support a system that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, so will your opportunities. If that happens, you can find me in the Caribbean sitting on the beach, under a palm tree, retired, and with no employees to worry about.

Just another rich guy with an overinflated ego. He thinks he can influence people to vote one way or another based on his empty threats.

Anybody remember that blowhard Alec Baldwin and his threat to leave America if Bush was re-elected? He didn't go anywhere, and the CEO in the OP won't be firing anybody.

Sounds like a child threatening to hold their breath until they turn blue to get something they want. Childish whining.

For those of you who don't know, the letter in the OP was written by the owner of a time-share company.

He has a colorful history, to say the least.

"Westgate Founder and CEO David Siegel was found guilty of sexual harassment in a lawsuit brought by former Westgate employee Georgette Meyers.[4] Meyers worked for Westgate for 14 years. She claimed that Siegel offered $1 Million to have sex with her. Meyers claimed that she had to repeatedly fight off unwanted advances from Siegel, and a Florida court awarded Meyers $5.4 Million in damages in February 2008."

You people just dont get it.... the TIME SHARE business is based upon "DISPOSABLE" income being high for as many people as possible.

IF obama wins, we will see $6 gas, electric bills 50% more, obamacare sucking another 3k + from each family regardless of income....and lets not add into the fact that many other companies also rely on that disposable income...

YOu act like he will have a choice to shut it down.... its not his option, his business will fail in the obama economy... and so will many businesses that are located in the same resort towns....that tourism requires lots of unskilled labor, service industry jobs......

Its a filter people... any button they touch at the federal level, it changes the equation for you and i. Its exactly why our federal government should not have so much control. Healthcare is a regional problem, my local economy is completely differnt that NY citys economy. The situation is different in each local. We need more state/local control....

That's not a threat.. it's the reality that's been imposed on us. There is no incentive to even try, what's not taken by the government is stolen by Wall Street, gauged at the pumps, gorged on by conglomerates, stabbed at by the medical industry & what little is left gets stolen by crackheads while you're trying to post a sign telling people they need to push the door instead of pulling it.. we're done, this experiment is over.

Re: CEO Threatens to Fire Employees If Obama Is Reelected and Raises Taxes
I told my husband if BamBam is re-elected and he loses his company provided healthcare (providing he doesn't lose his job too) and this act kicks in, I'm quitting my job.

I crunched the numbers, after vehicle expense, gas/maintenance/insurance, replacement costs, BamBam healthcare hit (the more you make the more you pay) increased taxes across the board, we're dual earners, we pay a lot in taxes and if the Bush tax cuts expire, marriage penalty tax, etc. etc., I'd be working for $200 a week net or thereabouts. Don't think so.

I can make that up in other ways that doesn't require 40-60 hour work weeks and driving 60 miles RT. Don't need a new car if not driving! Last year, we paid in taxes what I netted all year, yeah, pretty depressing.

I can make that cutting some more expenses off our budget at home, more gardening, chickens, etc., and sacrificing other things, and working for cash here/there and/or some podunk PT job close to home keeping my income under $10k a year, that's when the free BamBam HC kicks in, oh well, I guess I too can become a deadbeat.

And not to mention, we won't be spending too much disposable income, so here we go, less jobs as more people make do with less, we will if it happens.

We live frugally anyway even on 2 incomes, older, preparing for that rainy day (and losing money doing it) and would rather have somewhat of a life than these 50-70 hour work weeks to give it away to someone else just because we worked harder and saved; hell with that, I'm not doing it.

I'll support my husband at home, do something on the side, but I will NOT continue to pay outrageous taxes to support the entitlement crowd, both top and bottom.

We'll do like the small business owners are doing, we'll sell out, move to something even CHEAPER (although I don't know how we can live any cheaper than we are now outside of work expenses, medical ins. and taxation) but we will before we will continue to grind away for nothing.

I told DH a long time ago, we should have just started in a mobile home on land in a productive area, and STAYED in it our whole lives, you know why?

TPTB are Indian Givers, always have been; they give you the carrot, then 30 years into it, they take all their chips back off the table.

We're just going to end up back at Square 1 anyway (like many have already had experienced) and we've never utilized welfare outside of UE a couple of times.

I've been working for 35 plus years, my husband is a vet, and yet when we see how much we are being taxed, we just get angrier and angrier (as the Government continue its breeding program and open borders).

We are not the pound and are tired of supporting the all the irresponsible breeders, strays from other countries, and the criminals at the top. How much caveiar (sp?) can one person eat?

The top/bottom is DRAINING the working class and they are doing it fast w/TPTB blessings, and BamBam is going along with the program. They are just taking their chips off the table via pixels. There won't be a game to play here pretty soon, not evening the "working for a living" game if this keeps up.

Rant off :)
