i scanned a lotto ticket and the machine said "other -- see clerk", but i had already tossed it in the trash bin!

I HAD BEEN SCANNING TIX AND THEY WERE ALL SAYING "NOT A WINNER" SO I HAD GOTTEN INTO A GROOVE OF TRASHING THEM WHEN I SCANNED THAT ONE AND THOUGHT IT HAD SAID NOT A WINNER BUT THEN THE DISPLAY QUICKLY CHANGED TO "OTHER- SEE CLERK" LIKE RIGHT AFTER I TOSSED IT

Yes it was, google lottery scanner see clerk. One guy won the 52 million mega millions from Fremont california. He scanned his and the dispaly read "See clerk"

you can try that but if I were you I would go back to that store and rummage thru the garbage...seriously it may have been as small as 100, sometimes it will say other because you have to go to the lottery center since that kind of money is too much for a clerk to hand out.

this reminded me of a story, I use to work for 7 11 as a teenager and this very very old woman I would say 90 came in with a scratch off and said she couldn't see that well and if I can check it for her, I did and it was 25,000 dollars, now this was on the south side of Chicago with all different types of people behind her in line...I walked around and quietly pulled her to the side and told her she just won 25,000 dollars and she needs to go to the lottery place which they gave us the address for, asked her if she needed to use the phone to call someone and she called her son to come and get her, I was afraid of her walking home by herself...I will never forget how happy she was.

Sleep well tonight

This happened to me before I was scanning my scratch tickets to double check for winners and one wouldn't scan properly it said to see clerk or cashier.

It turned out that the clerk I bought it from didn't activate the tickets bar code so it was like it was a stolen ticket even though I paid for it. They called the store where I got it from to see if there was any theft involved.

Nope just human error, this may be your case as well.
