Sooner or later as you grow older, you will have 'special needs'. I am pretty sure you won't want society to have the ability 'put you down' like a dog..... O wait, under Obamacare they will.

honestly

i'm 47 now, and i see late 60 early 70 year olds, tottering around, hobbling around, miserable looks on their wrinkled old faces, and i think, 'no thank you'

That is why we need legal cannabis. No more miserable old people hobbling about. They will all be breaking out their old Grateful Dead albums and getting down. Or maybe Bucks Fizz, in the UK...(Mutters: God I hope not...)

I am talking about the extreme cases of the kids...like they are so autistic they scream 20 hours of the day...when I see some single mothers faces with these children it looks like they would rather have them put down then to live with the shame and burden of caring for them every day.

All their lives the "special" kid will never contribute to society...they will never find a 9-5 job since they would rather play with the buttons on a cash register then help a fellow human being with their order...the euthanization would be liken to a very late term abortion...if families in society are ok with abortions then they would be ok with euthanizing their handicapped child.

I'm not normally a rude person, but how dare you! This post makes me sick to my stomach. All Chidlren are precious gifts from God. Special needs children are some of the sweetest, most loving people you'll ever meet. I used to tutor these children, and contrary to what you think, they can form incredible bonds if you only give them a chance. They showed me love every day, and I'm grateful. Spending time with them is a privilege, not a burden. If you can't see that then you you don't deserve to spend time with them or, or have any children of your own for that matter.

Since you seem to be retarted as hell, why dont you tell us how you would feel feel if someone REALLY wanted to kill you???
They KNOW things....they may not always be able to SPEAK it...say the way yiu and I do...but they smile, they laugh, they cry, and THEY BLEED, feel pain, feel love.
If their parents love them enough to choose life, who are you to say otherwise!
You have to be pretty evil and fucked in the pumpkin to even suggest something like that!!! SHAME ON YOU!!! angryface goaway

Re: Should special needs children be euthanized?
Some posts clearly show that we have reached the end of this age, where cold-heartedness reigns supreme. Man, in his self arrogant pride, considers the weakest members of society as not worthy of life.

"Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! James 2:12-13

In self-arrogant pride, the wicked deem the lives of others expendable. In their self-arrogant pride, the wicked KILL the innocent.

Euthanasia is MURDER. Euthanasia of special needs children is supported by those who show no mercy, and as such, their Judge in Heaven above will show none to them.

John9:

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

The works of God can be made manifest in both these special children and how we respond to them.

For instance when you see a mother at her last particle of patience do you stare and say ohh poor soul? Or do you actively size up a way to help her?

These people bless us to look beyond ourselves, stretch ourselves to do something generous for someone who may never ever be able to repay.

These situations created the fire of the refiner which polishes us up to reflect the Saviors love.

The Civilized will understand, this is what separates us from being of no worth and WORTHY.

Re: Should special needs children be euthanized?
My co-host on my radio talk show is a severly physically disabled individual, who was born without arms, and short, unusable legs. He gets around in a motorized wheeelchair, lives alone, has a college degree, and is a Teacher by trade. He also serves on a local transportation board, and is a all-around community activist.
Some people might think he has no quality of life, but he has a better life than many people who do not have a darn thing wrong with them.
Who is anyone to judge the quality of life of another individual? Life is totally what you make of it. When you get lemons, you make lemonade, plain and simple. Not everyone will be a rocket scientist, a statesman, or the next greatest athlete, but all can contribute in their own way, to others on this rock, whether it be by their deeds, or by their outlook on life.
I am a mother of 2 special needs children, one by birth, and one by adoption. From my own experience, the problem was not my childrens disabilities, the problem is the attitudes of some people.

Thanks for sharing Tiger. That's a great story. I would agree that alot of people with disabilities actually have a better quality of life. They don't worry about some of the silly things the rest of us do. Also, with loving attention, and therapy, many of these children have dramatic improvements. It just takes someone who's kind, and patient to work with them.

Hubby and I choose not to have kids for various reasons. OP I totally disagree with your statement. Euthanasia is murder and I can not condone it for anyone. I have a cousin who would be classified as mentally slow in this society. However she holds down a job, which is more than I can say about some deadbeats in this society, is a help to her elderly mom and just a complete joy to be around. I think a lot of these autistic kids and kids with learning issues in this day and age would benefit getting off all the drugs and eating healthy non gmo foods and sugars. JMO

OP, I challenge you, to provide absolute proof of evidence, that you have any legal standing to have an opinion regarding the life or murder of another person, that you have no responsibility for. If you can't, then your opinion is criminal. Unless you are directly responsible, you have no moral or lawful right, to even have an opinion in the matter of the value of what someone else's life is worth. You don't get to decide, period, keep you criminal opinion to your self.

Then put your blame on the billions of murderers in the world;

Number of abortions in United States

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), since 1973, roughly 50 million legal induced abortions have been performed in the United States.[37] World wide, there have been over 1,260,000,000 abortions performed.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Abortion is EXACTLY like euthanasia...under a different name...if people are ok with abortions they are perfectly fine with euthanizing of a special needs child in its later years....and those whining about "Gods children"...then why the hell would God make them that way?
